Monday I would have bet the mortgage the top 4 seeds didn't all advance to the semifinals but they did, congrats to all.

New Prague over Faribo 6-2

I remember there being a log of talk about how the seedings were not right. Well the seeding committee did a pretty damn good job. They have hit every matchup. I give the committee a virtual high five on that.

Maybe, but I could argue that as close as the games were a bye or home ice may have made enough difference in many of these matchups. Flip a few home games because of seeds and things may have been completely different.

First, I'm from the metro so I have no dog in the fight. Second, based on your continued abuse of the English language I am guessing you are a junior high student somewhere. Third, because you don't recognize the fact that outcomes of close games (overtime especially) can be impacted by home ice as a result of seeding means you don't understand hockey.

Well, I missed the Faribault game. Kudos to the Falcons on their come from behind win. As many of us predicted, lots of close games. This is a very competitive section with great games from the spectator point of view. I will strict with my original picks (just replace Faribault for LSP). I wish I lived close enough to take in these games.

Of the 9 games 4 went to overtime, 2 of those to double overtime and 6 of the games were 1 goal games.

You could play the tournament again next week and likely have 3 or 4 different teams in the final four. That's why it's such a fun time for fans though, every game matters.

Semi-final Saturday! Should be a great day of hockey here in section 1A.. Those of you that can make the games please keep us updated.

Going with New Prague and West to meet in the finals

Northfield vs New Prague.

I think West was done in by Albert Lea Thursday, they just didn't have the jump in their step in the third period and overtime. Northfield played well, they deserved the win and ended up out shooting West by a couple in the end.
