It's only a tie if it finishes that way after the 1st overtime- in a tournament you'll see a game go to a shootout to determine who goes on but will reflect a tie on the record. in a playoff game they will play multiple overtimes and not go to a shoot out-

Also just saw where Champlin Park pulled out an upset over Blaine, 3-2.

Silver Bay 3, Cloquet 1  ???????

Why is this Shocking? Silver Bay(7-1-1) is 3-1-1 against AA Schools. This includes Shakopee, Superior, Duluth (Tied - S.B up 2-0 in 3rd) and now Cloquet (who scored with 40 sec. left). Not just luck.
A Very Good Team. Great Goalie in Lexi Warnecke and Defensive team!

I know Silver Bay is a very good team this year (even with the loss of Downey to P/H/DM) but I was still surprised when I saw this score. As of the last LPH issue they were still an unranked A team vs. Cloquet which has had a pretty rich AA tradition. Certainly didn't mean to offend in any way - congrats on the victory and good luck the rest of the way.

Great goaltending can always make a difference on any given night and at least as much in the girls game as the boys if not more so IMHO...

It also does not hurt to have a good D that does not give up alot of quality shots either, much like most good Defensive teams the D's gobble up the player in the Neutral zone and D- zone and make you struggle to get off a good shot.

Went to the SB vs. Cloquet game....great game for S.B. Cloquet just didn't seem like it had a lot of fire power behind there shots, IMO.

I must of been in the dark for awhile, why did Downey go to P-H-DM?

I would imagine that we'll see a few more of these postponed events today with the weather... Tough choice for administrators but games can always be made up and better to be safe.
