What advice would you give to a small town who had the best regular season in its history, a team who everybody loves to hate, and a team that must travel 3 hours to every game from here on out?...

Everybody doesn't hate you, I'll let you in on something else, people in my waters haven't gotten a lot of love in a long time either. It's the nature of the beast, win consistently and some of the critics go away... well unless you're Roseau. Even they manage to take a beating, and poor old Moorhead, still being crusified for not winning the big one.
YES: It Can Happen but it won't be easy

Both of you give very good advice. Good luck to your teams in the fight to March to St. Paul.
I think a few tall cool ones will be in order..

Another bonus of being rewarded with the #8 is YES, you get to contest for the right to take on the boss via the playin game that oldtimer speaks of.
If I'm anything, I am all things the playin game. It's like a bonus game, free hockey, another opportunity to perform. Who doesn't want that? In addition, think of the economic impact that extra game has on the local economy. In 8A, the chamber of commerces of Hallock, Baudette, and Crookston are just giggling about next Tuesday.
The Fleet of 8's, individually we fight, united we stand.
Who else is going to get the right to join?

Ah
YES, there it is, the view from the helm of the Fleet's flagship. Neutron has brilliantly captured the sights as well as the Captain's feelings of loneliness as he searches for gold in an angry endless sea. The smells,
YES the smell of that sweet salt air, the burnt odor of gun powder, and finally the stench of inevitibility that always looms from the port side's gun rail. It's not an easy life, but it has to be somebody's life.
