The Twins are saved, Rondell White comes off the DL today.

We havent had this kind of news since Brett Boone was acquired.

Hopefully, Rondell can chip in before its too late but I doubt it.

What happened?

Here's the problem, their longest win streak this year is 5 games (May 27-Jun 1). They've had a few threes and couple of fours, but no TEAR.
Ten quick ones starting tonight gets them to +14, from there they can win one, lose one the rest of the year and on the 20th of September they'll be right in the middle of Wild Card Musical Chairs.

Its true, they need to have a hot streak. It doesnt have t be 10 n a row (it would be nice) but 13 out of 16 or something.

From 29-29 to 51-47 is an improvemnet but not enough. At this rate we are looking at an 85 to 87 wins which wont come close to a WC spot.

Look out for the Yankees.

I know Neut is tired of all this so he should just hang out around Mankato and see if he can catch a glimpse of some of the Vikings, probably at one of the bars around curfew time.

Cole: I can't wait until all the Patriots fans tell me how stupid I am for putting the Chargers in the top spot. Why not Colts fans, you say? Indy fans are way too milquetoast to get in anybody's face. More telling is the fact that AFC teams occupy eight of the top 11 spots. That's a pretty strong eight and just about any one of them could beat the best the NFC has to offer.
Robinson: New England's got the talent to be in the top spot, but there's no guarantee Randy Moss, Donte' Stallworth and Kelley Washington won't undermine the chemistry on offense. Starting Indianapolis in the No. 4 spot may not seem sensible, but the Colts have pressing defensive questions after losing their starting cornerbacks and a playmaking linebacker in Cato June.

Cole: Everybody likes to pick a team or two that could jump from the middle of the pack to the top. In this group, the best preseason candidates for a jump are San Francisco and Dallas. The 49ers showed progress at the end of last season and Dallas has great talent on defense.

Robinson: San Francisco at No. 13 might seem a bit high, but the 49ers will be better offensively and have added enough defensive pieces to be drastically improved in a notoriously soft division. If Detroit's defensive line can finally come together, the Lions can take a jump up from the NFL's lower echelon. Atlanta is poised to drop like a rock with Michael Vick's federal case hanging over the franchise all season long.

Cole: The Michael Vick news dropped the Falcons from a spot in the middle all the way down to the bottom of the league. Wait, you say, Oakland is at the bottom of the league. Well, the Raiders are so bad that they are in a class by themselves at the bottom of the barrel.

Robinson: Tennessee made a surprising step forward last season, but is staring down plenty of issues going into this season. Who will be Vince Young's receiving targets? Who is going to carry the load at the running back spot? And how will the Titans react to losing its No. 1 corner and return man? Minnesota, Oakland and Cleveland all have major quarterback issues to be sorted out.

Hey! Just grinding your gears!

When I was much younger and single, I would see Tommy just about every where I went, so long as it was at a bar.

So when I read Govs limk, I smiled. It reminded me of the "good old days".

But you have to grow up. If someone can say about you "he hasnt changed a bit" after 25 years, you probably arent doing very well. I hope that isnt the case with TK but it sounds like it.

I would be open to it too, but they bring him back in the offseason. Trade him now and his new team picks up around 4-5mil of what is left for this year. While their at it move Castillo, that saves them nearly 2 more. The savings on Castillo and Hunter this year pays for Torii's raise the next two years. Hunter's raise in years 3 and 4 is covered by not signing the an Ortiz, Cirillo, or White anymore. If they're smart they can have Torii for four more and still have plenty of money to lock up Morneau when the time comes.

But what about Johan?

Santana outgrew the nest, he will command a $100 million deal. Even if Hunter leaves, the Twins still won't marry themself to a 100mil.

Let's wait and see what happens with this year. IF, and this is a big if, we can rebound, win another division title, and do ANY better than last year in the post season we could possibly have another Cy Young winner and at least one golden glove winner. With all that, I'm sure they'll change what they're willing to spend. It would be a lot easier to say that if we had a few more in the W column and Santana had 13 wins, but we'll see.
