Certainly was an opportunity for CEC to position themselves for a home quarterfinal game.Usthockey13 wrote:Also no one has mentioned the Andover beat CEC.
Yes it was now East has a chance come the 2nd half with games vs GR ER flake and CEC. Not saying they'll win all but if they did that could make for some real interesting arguments at the seed meeting.TheHockeyDJ wrote:Certainly was an opportunity for CEC to position themselves for a home quarterfinal game.Usthockey13 wrote:Also no one has mentioned the Andover beat CEC.
Imagine the complaining if East ends up seeded #5, wins their quarterfinal and then has "home ice" for the semifinals?!alcloseshaver wrote:If the Elks can pull off the upset of the century tonight it will make for a fun year pounding the keyboard about section seeds, like we do every year.

Marshall had their top to D in the game against East. Krenzen and Liberty were on the ice 80% of the time.TheHockeyDJ wrote:After last season in 7AA I felt like I've seen everything. East is struggling big time now. But anyone who has been around HS hockey for a number of years knows anyone can get hot at the right time. 7AA is gonna be more competitive this year than I thought, meaning Cloquet, Andover, and oddly St. Francis are lurking as potential upset threats, probably Forest Lake too. Duluth Marshall got everyone's attn with the blanking of East, and they did it w/o their top two defensemen. I think Rapids, East, and Elk River will still end up being the top 3 seeds.
TheHockeyDJ wrote:Congrats to Elk River! Played an opportunistic game and buried a team that wasn't ready to play. Interesting to hear Klatt say post game the team has no identity right now and he took responsibility for them not being ready.
In other 7AA action, was really surprised to see St. Francis win at STMA. So now St. Francis has defeated a team Duluth East lost to.
LOL, so typical, knee jerk reaction to one game.northwoods oldtimer wrote:With exception of Elk River Elks it looks like 7AA is very mediocre section in 2015-2016.
I thought I heard DM coach in pregame interview say they would be w/o them until January.Usthockey13 wrote:Marshall had their top to D in the game against East. Hanson, who I'd say is their #2 D-man, has been out with an injury.TheHockeyDJ wrote:I thought I heard DM coach in pregame interview say they would be w/o them until January.Usthockey13 wrote:Marshall had their top to D in the game against East. Well they ran 4 D but I know thier top two Krenzen and Liberty were playingTheHockeyDJ wrote:I thought I heard DM coach in pregame interview say they would be w/o them until January.Usthockey13 wrote:Marshall had their top to D in the game against East. As BSM head coach Ken Pauly said, Rapids has 5 kids that know how to "whip the pill". Mattson, Bischoff, Adams, McLaughlin, Hain, and I'll add Miller and Stampohar, are all very good players, but it is a team game and everything is not in sync yet. They've actually played well with the exception of yesterday. Eden Prairie and BSM are considered the top 2 teams in the state. Lakeville North is defending state champs and they lost in OT in their rink. Even yesterday GR was playing well through most of the first two periods and ER got two goals in the final :33 of the 2nd. The early 5 min major buried GR in the 3rd. I just don't understand why this team gets the level of flack they do. 3 losses to top 5 teams and only yesterday was a game they lost that was really unexpected. So far this season it seems apparent that BSM and EP are the top 2 teams, then a group between 3 and 15 that are very close to one another. 1-2 wasn't the desired Edina Classic result, but perhaps give them some credit for dominating Edina on Thursday. Duluth East has lost to STMA and Duluth Marshall, just a reminder.mulefarm wrote:Why do people think Rapids has a bunch of talented players? I would say they have a bunch of average to a few above average players that get a lot of hype. They seem to be an average team that beats less talented teams, but struggle against talented teams. What am I missing?
Is Liberty a freshman? He said their top two D are the team captain and a freshmen.Usthockey13 wrote:Well they ran 4 D but I know thier top two Krenzen and Liberty were playingTheHockeyDJ wrote:I thought I heard DM coach in pregame interview say they would be w/o them until January.Usthockey13 wrote: Marshall had their top to D in the game against East.
