How many players and which ones, besides Enebak, Smith, and Edquist have open enrolled to North?

McNeely and Altavilla came over a few years ago from the Southside.

I'll tell ya why. When you are a worse than bad team like century and you keep running your mouth, taking cheap shots at guys, running goalie with intent to injure the kid, etc when you didn't have a sniff from time warmups ended sometimes you need to get a little message sent to you.

Farmington better bring their A game next Thursday or they are gonna find themselves in running time too.
Wow! Like I said, a lack of respect.
D zone. Watch the game. Open your eyes. When you are getting you ass kicked up an down the ice over and over as over again it's time to shut your mouth and be humble. Not take cheap shots, cock off and try to hurt kids. Century needs to opt down. With all due respect, I can promise you that LN coaches aren't losing any sleep over you not respecting their coaching.
Relax Sats! If you keep up this high octane emotions, you will never see the State Tournament.

Thanks... I am pretty sure Edquist lived in South territory at one time also. South has a nice looking team this year had those three not left.

Ya...I was going to say Edquist, but no one can really say where he lives/lived.

Give your facts on those teams! Sounds like lvn has 5 instead of 3.

I'm guessing that more than a few Lakeville fans would tell you that "transfers" from Lakeville South don't really count, since (in their opinion) the local school board didn't have any business diluting the hockey program by building that second high school in the first place.

I wonder if I can help get this thread back on positive direction by trying to reiterate some of the history than may be unfolding at the X if , as expected, the Panthers face Edina in the championship game:

1) First contestant going for undefeated season since 1993 Jags

2) Vs First contestant going for three peat since 1994 Jags

3) Someone double check me on this but I think: First undefeated contestant going against a one loss contestant in championship game since the Edina East vs Bemidji championship game in 1974. Ironically, the Jacks could be back at the X to witness the event!

Ironically, it's gonna be the Jacks that make sure the matchup can't happen! :)

Yes Warrior, get all the Jacks believing in themselves as much as you do and anything can happen! Question: do you want the Jacks to do the prevention in the qtrfinals or the semifinals? And against which team?

Honestly, if they get past Moorhead and go to state they most likely won't get seeded. I think we all agree on that. That means they have a 2 out of 3 chance to meet either LVN or Edina in the quarter finals so I'll go with that. As to which team I'd prefer they play, I'll say Edina, just because I hate them the most. Stealing Warroad's '69 championship and all :)

Warrior, dont say IF they get by Moorhead!

Anyway, very good logic and rationale on your preferred qtrfinal selection and win for the Jacks!

Then, who would you prefer them to beat in the semis ?

Gets a little tougher I project out to the second round without knowing who exactly makes it to state and what the match ups are. But I'll assume that STA is the 3rd seed and and win their first game.

Of course I'd really like to a repeat of 2012 I think, where all the games in the first round were won by underdogs. That would help a ton.

What a difference a year makes. I remember North in running time against Edina last year in the championship game. I also remember that game ending with an embarrassing 3rd period where North took 7 penalties (in one period) and the refs had to hold the puck until the clock expired because Eigner gave up coaching in the second period. I also remember North flopping around the ice most of the game faking contact while Edina continued play.

After the game, I remember North fans complaining about Edina scoring in the third on a power play and people accused them of over-celebrating their goals/championship.

Not even 12 months later - North gets a big win and they can't wait to talk about how classless their opponent was. I didn't see the game and I'm not defending Century, but LN doesn't have much moral high ground as far as I'm concerned.

I hope it's an Edina/North rematch. It deserves to be this year. I hope North kids have gotten better at flopping and taking cheap shots because Edina keeps scoring game winners in the first period against you in March and it's getting a little boring to watch.

I believe North's players learned a lot from last years tourney. I am hoping that Thursday's game and hopefully, state tourney games will provide a venue for everyone to see just how talented a team this is.... in my opinion, the best 5x5 team in the state..... and also may have the best power play too....... I am biased of course.....

Your chest is now almost touching your monitor. LOL..
What LVN is, is great on the back end. 92.1 on PK 1.36 GA. They are really good 5 x 5, Edina better though, and LVN PP 33.3 vs STA 33.8....
Up front they are really good so obviously all around too, but the D and Goalie are the real difference, far ahead of the rest of the teams.
Check out the stats!!!

Fun Fact Edina at only 25.5 on the PP. Well below all other top 8 teams, not that one should worry about such things as I know they waited till halfway through the year to put a unit together, but if there is a rematch of the final from last year, LVN may not mind the sin bin again. Could be to their advantage.

Geez just checking, simmer down!! As you might have been able to read, I said these were just my opinions.......... I am not totally driven by stats. Lots more to the game than that..... I am just hoping the crushing by Edina last year provides the team with some incentive to not only get back to the dance, but to hopefully prove something...... JUST MY OPINION....... there, better on your end?

All good here thanks. Did not mean to make it sound like I was disagreeing, just ribbing you on your pride!!

I wanted to point out that your squad is #1 defensively to go along with a top 5 offense. Your position is defensible for sure as far as potential top PP and 5 on 5.

The Kiwanis Tournament around Christmas time has more prestige than Section 1 AA. No team has ever made State more than Lakeville because of the crappy section they are in.

Having said that they were deserving last season and should they make it this year. But man those previous years were almost as embarrassing as watching STA mop up in the Class A tournament and be proud of it.

St Thomas is a Class A size school and had every right to stay there. Maybe the State High School League should modify the system for deciding which schools qualify for A or AA classification. Since private schools get students from many school districts maybe the size of the school districts represented in the student enrollment should be considered instead of just school size.
Regarding Lakeville, they have no say over what section they are in therefore they have nothing to be embarrassed about.

Team22, so the consolation championship and 3rd place finishing teams were just chump teams? What bus did you just fall off of?

I'm not going to get in a big debate. But if STA wanted to be in A then they should have scheduled A teams in the regular season. Funny how they need to be in A for playoffs but schedule AA juggernauts in the reg. season. That should be the big rule change, play the teams in your class.

As far as Lakeville, I never said they have a say in the section assignments. I said the years they have made it are embarrassing because of how awful section 1 is. Making it 7 times in a short period and 5 of those times under .500 is a joke.

The last two years they have been a great team.
