Lourdes and New Prague each had tough schedules, nobody else did.
St. Peter also lost to East, LaCrescent, Litchfield, Marshall, New Ulm, etc. the Big 9 may be down, but it's still better than the Big South. Even if those statements were false, perception has always been big 9 is better, and the big 9 coaches likely believe that too.
Everyone in the section, outside of New Prague has bad losses. Hell, Northfield lost to Winona. Head to head and section record does matter. LSP and La Crescent have had nice years. To their benefit, the section is a mess and everyone seems to have beat one another. In those years, it benefits teams that don't have a lot of section games but win the ones they do. Like it or not, Teams like Faribault and Northfields do not deserve seeds better than LSP and La Crescent.

That's the thing. It doesn't matter who deserves what. St. Peter will not be ranked ahead of faribault and northfield. Period.

I seem to recall GMHF "Guaranteeing" Lourdes will be a top 4 or 5 seed. Well, the Eagles got what they deserved, the 8 seed.

GMHF- care to comment on your Eaglet squad now that the seeds are official?

HEY GMHF, are you still putting together internet tournaments or did you hear about your Lourdes seed yet?

Look on the upside lesuer and lacrescent fans. Maybe high school hockey will go with three or four tiers and you guys might get a sniff of the state tourney. Neither lesuer or lacrescent get to semifinals.

Some strange seeds....
Albert Lea finished 9th in the Big Nine and lost to 8th place Mankato East twice yet Albert Lea gets a 7 and East gets a 9. Red Wing finishes 10th in the Big Nine and gets a 6 seed.

It seems beating Lourdes in one game matters more than the rest of the season.

0-5-1 in the Section. That's more than 20 percent of their games that they had a chance to make a statement and failed to do so. Heck 5 wins on the year. I'm sorry, but Lourdes doesn't get a free pass to a better seed just because they've had past success with difficult schedules.

I think you hit the nail on the head here.. I'm stumped. Would of loved to hear how these coaches argued at the meeting, should be interesting though!

It's unfortunate that parents like you put the burden of the perception of arrogance on your kids.

I have no horse in this race.

Step 1 is the hardest but you need to admit to the fact that Lourdes is not a good team. Coaches don't care about scheduling good teams and then losing.

You are correct. The last two years Lourdes has been awful! No argument here.

Again I don't have any allegiance to any teams. Just enjoy hockey!

8 ) Lourdes over 9) East 5-2 (Lourdes may be getting guys back)
7) Albert Lea over 10) La Crescent 5-2 (LaC missing a top player on DQ, will hurt no depth badly)
6) Red Wing over 11) Waseca 5-0 (RW rolling-flu bug should be gone, Waseca top player back, won't matter)
5) LSP over 12) Winona 4-0 (Winona won't be able to stop Wenner)
4) Fairbo over 13) Austin 4-0 (Fairbo is back to full strength)

If Lourdes wins, hopefully NP comes to play. Two close games with them this year already.

Am I missing something on Northfield? Losses to JM, Century, and Faribault recently, all teams Mankato West has beaten in the last month. I'm not saying I think West is a whole lot better, but just curious why everyone likes Northfield..don't see New Prague losing but need an upset somewhere?
