What a great photo, I could look at that all day. That was when the Olympics were, ..................... well.....Olympic. Look at the fans in the background, everyday, ordinary, hockey fans. In particular look at the guy (white sweater, arms raised) by the left elbow of the US player in the foreground. He was probably a postal carrier, a forklift driver, or teacher from upstate NY. He's at the game because he got in line early enough to get in. If this game were played today, the people in the stands would be there because they could fork over a few thousand to get one of the 6,000 seats. The best seats would see celebrities or TV personalities that the TV network covering the game would want to promote.

It was their time.
One game.
If they palyed them 10 times , they'd probably win 9.
But not that game......not last night.
Last night they skated with them.... and they shut them down because they could!

As we penetrate into February the gap between the top and bottom continues to narrow and the burden of being the favorite becomes heavier and heavier.
Last night, we saw one team punch through and we had two others that didn't fall until bonus time.
