#1 Eden Prairie Red - 4
#4 Edina White - 1
Even for the first period, but in the second, ep poured it on and scored 3 goals, and the third was even again with each team scoring a goal.
#2 Burnsville - 4
#5 Jefferson - 3
First period pretty even but 2-1 Jag lead, 2nd period Jefferson came out fast scored but burnsville scored 3 goals in 1:45, and third period was domination by Jefferson, but they could not score

Another view of the EP Red vs. Edina White matchup:
Edina White came out hot in the 1st, clearly taking the play to the EP boys. Shots were probably 2 to 1 in favor of Edina, with EP goalie (Ford) keeping them in the game. 2nd period all EP -- two very nice goals. led to a 2-0 score after two periods and an ice wash. 3rd period, Edina tried to come back, but mistakes on their end led to two more nice plays and scores. Edina scores a meaningless goal with less than 2 minutes to play to salvage something. Edina outshoots EP, probably something like 35 to 26 or so....
Wanted to see how EP Red would play in a big game. They brought their "A" game last night.....

One of the Edina teams will have to call it a season tonite. Any predictions for this battle of Edina?
If case you go to the game, Edina Green will be in white and Edina White will be in green.
IMO, no clear cut favorite. I predict an OT game, possibly getting all the way to 3 on 3. Green may have a slight advantage having a day off and the higher seed in case of the quirky D6 OT rules.

Green 2-0 (reversal of the first meeting between these two). Expect a physical game.

Everyone is based on opinions, and some opinions can not even be proven facts with statistics. Some people play differently then others. What you think is not what i think. i respect your opinions but we have a different basis for teamwork.

"but we have a different basis for teamwork."
someone? anyone? help me with this concept of a different basis of teammwork that lessercountryfolk is speaking about?
Did John Wooden or Herbie Brooks leave something out that today's youth get and we older folks do not?
blueblood? EagleGuy91? Help - maybe this new concept of teammwork will be something I can apply to soccer?
Only stats that mean anything is the W or the L .
Teamwork

LCF:
Not sure what u mean by different basis for teamwork. IMO:
A team competes together.
A team wins and loses together.
A team must respect each other, their opponents, and the officials.
A team makes everyone on the team better.
If the players get these simple concepts, then a team is born and success will follow.

For anyone who has seen EP Red and Burnsville play this year, it is no surprise why they finished where they did and why they are where they are at now. It's because they are the best TEAMS, not the biggest, not the fastest, not even the most skilled, they are simply the best TEAMS.

MG beats Wayzata Blue 2-1 and advances to regions. MG will play the winner of Blake, Wayzata Gold for the D3 championship Saturday night 8:00pm at Orono Arena.
Blake was on top of Gold 3-2 in the 3rd and Blake was completely dominating the game.
Blue will need to come through the back door and more than likely will need to beat the loser of the Gold, Blake game to get to regions. That is of course if Blue beats Brooklyn Park tomorrow evening to get to that game.

Anyone know the score of EP Black??? I saw on the EP black site that Halloran was supposed to start in goal for them. I am surprised at that. He has a losing record in a must win game. Eagleguy will usually play the better goalie in these situations... why not now???

EP Black over Edina Green 2-1 - on to Regions.
EP Red over Burnsville 3-1.
Black vs Burnville Friday night, 7pm @ AV Hayes.
Winner gets EP Red Saturday @ BIG 3.
Yes, Halloran played tonight. Played phenomenally well. While the records of the goalies do differ, as goalies they don't. Both very solid. The rotation has worked well of late and will continue into Regionals.
