D10

Barring a major upset in the few remaining games, it looks like D10 will end with a bottle neck at the top:
Chisago 15-1-1
Elk River 15-2-0
Centennial 15-1-1
Blaine 15-2-0
1/2 game separation from 1st to 4th. Chisago takes it by gaining all HEP. ER takes second with more HEP than Centennial.
The games between each other:
Chisago ties Centennial
Elk River over Blaine
Elk River over Centennial
Blaine over Chisago
Chisago over Elk River
Centennial over Blaine.
Elks other loss to Champlin very early in the year.

Turk, you keep referring to Mg as "YOUR TEAM" meaning my team. They are obviously YOUR TEAM also.
Ok will go with somewhere between 12-15 penalties. Score keeper said around 14 (maybe he meant combined) Lets go with 8-10 Mg penalties then, in a 42minute game.
When you go into an important district game like that and have that many penalties and cannot hit the broadside of barn with the puck and as you say should have beat them 5-2, I would say that is the definition of an ugly performance or undisciplined performance.
Ok lets give Wayzata some credit THEY WON. But you know as well as I do, you were there, MG underachieved again against a team that they should handle.
My comments regarding outshooting them were merely to point out that they put more shots on net than Wayzata while being shorthanded for a good portion of the game. The missed the net with a number of great scoring chances.
They will NOT get out of districts if they continue down the path they are heading, playing undisciplined, lazy hockey, and your right that would be a huge disapointment.

Cents, to add to your D10 statement,
Looking at the D10 website, the playoff format only allows the top 8 to participate. There are like 6 teams within 5 points of one another at the bottom of the bubble.
We all get pissed about HEP points effecting seeding, how about ending your season based on HEP points?! Not cool D10. Why not split into D10 North and D10 South and have each play down to 4 who play each other for the Regional berths and D10 champ.
Then you have two Associations taking in revenue for the playoffs. Genius!
I should be president of the sport of hockey.

Hey Chaska Fan - you thought the parents supporting your squad got in a tizzy - geez

ohMY,
You are correct, I just realized how rediculous it is to go back and forth with a parent from the same team in an open forum to discuss our differences of opinion in our teams performance.
After going back and reading the posts I am actually embarressed. My apologies to Turk for going a bit to far with my opinion.

unreal! i have been reading entries by "thecorrespondent" and have come to the conclusion that he does not realize that mg is over rated-so be it! not every player has the desire to make hockey their life! so stop critizing the mg team. (i am not even from mg) these boys go out every day and work their butts off-for what? certaintly not so a group of parents can announce to the whole world that they are lazy! the minute i try to tell my 2 players how or what they should of done-they ask me when was the last time my fatt butt played hockey. hockey is a life lesson-it is teaching our boys how to grow up to be responsible adults. lay off the rude-selfish comments about how bad your team is doing since the gr tourney and how lazy they are. has this been a disappointing year for my son? Yes-considering he played in the Peewee State Tournament last year and this year his team is not even rated in the top 20. what a different perspective, huh?

Findme,
First of all it is not a group of parents announcing anything , it was just me giving my opinion as to what I saw in a particular game and on how there performance has been since a nice tournement win in Grand Rapids. Simply one persons perspective.
But you are correct in the fact that I should not be critical in an open forum when it relates to the kids and the team, and I did acknowledge that in a post earlier today. So just simmer down there findme. You might want to try throwing some skates on sometime and getting out on the ice. A little excorsise never hurt anyone.
I am sorry your son is having a disapointing year, not every kid gets an opportunity to ever play in a state tournement, so make sure to tell him to be gratefull of that.

I'm surprised that Burnsville slipped below Chaska - inactivity?
That team handed it to Chaska twice - watch out for them in the post season
Green gets revenge

Green completely handled Tonka last night in the revenge game from 1/22....Green is rising while White is falling, I woulda never expected that.. but love it nonetheless..look out for Green in two weeks!!!!
Green vs Tonka

by blueblood
Green outplayed Tonka in the third period to earn the win. Up to that point it was a very even game with Tonka holding a 2-1 lead and the shots 16 - 14 in favor of Green through 2 periods.
I do give credit to green machine for playing a strong third period, but the previous poster's comments are somewhat out of context.
For the game, the shots were Green 26 and Tonka 21.

from Sportscenter in NYC
Jefferson 2
Chaska 0
Chaska loses hep point
jefferson gets theirs
I have no other details.
One step forward two steps back for Chaska - they play when they think it matters, not realizing it always matters.
