Looks to me as if Albert Lea might have a problem in goal. Waalkens was anything but sharp against Waseca, and did Casanova play against Faribault? If so, what happened? If AL led going into the third period, how did they break down?

What's the story AL fans?

faribault has a decent goalie in zack north he split time last year with the other goalie til playoffs and posted similiar numbers with the senior last year.....goaltending for albert lea has been a problem for the last 3 or 4 years now casanova is not good....maybe hes improved since his fresh and soph year but it doesnt sound like it giving up 5 on 22 shots

on hagleson-great players dont score in every game, when its a close game like between faribault and al it makes it somewhat harder and he did score 5 goals against east and he is still a sophomore. i dont remember ellingson, lair, walton or breuer ever doing that at varsity level as sophomores. and even the gophers showing interest in him at this age is better than what those three got even after jon made the all tournament team at state (and basically the only reason he got that is becase he was the only one to score against warroad)

Great kid. Has grown to 6'4". Starting to use the wingspan.
Fits in well with the new "Halloween Machine" in Marshall. :D
He talks fondly of his Grand Rapids days.

We are........ Marshall.
Check out the trailer for this new movie coming out Dec. 22
An awesome story about rebirth of a schools identity after a terrible tragedy.
I knew the kid very well. Glad to hear he is making a difference down there.

Breuer scored 5 goals against Owatonna his sophomore year. Also, after the Warroad game Albert Lea outscored the next two teams by a score of 17-4 with Breuer collecting 6 more points for a total of 7 points in the state tournament.

Comparing Helgeson and Breuer are like comparing apples and oranges. If Jon Breuer was 6'4" with his skill and leadership qualities he wouldn't be playing for the Gophers, he'd be playing for the Wild.

Jon Breuer

Good one southernmnscout, made me chuckle

So the only thing holding Breuer back is that he isn't 6'4"?? Don't get me wrong, JB was a great player for Albert Lea. He was instrumental in that team's success, but to say that he'd be playing in the NHL if he were 8" taller is a reach.

any teams in action tonight?

Games for tomorrow are as follows:

Mankato East vs. Northfield (Northfield-I dont know much about them but i know that East is not that strong)

Mankato West vs. Rochester JM (West-im looking for another good game by mankato and Trembly will bounce back from the disappointing game vs NP)

Austin vs. Marshall (Marshall-not much else to say just a better team)

How about some score predictions.

puckhanler... that comment was making any reference to saying that he is a "great player" if ur telling me that i think great players score in every game im not stupid... ive watched hockey before... i was simply mocking the fact that after helgeson scored an open netter the fairbault fans held up a sign that said "hes a gopher"... so chill

Mr. Tigerpride,

I was referenceing the post made by ahs06ulum. So you chill, and proof your posts, they're difficult to read.

read your post, the first word in the quote is "Tigerpride..." but arguing that really is not the point of this thread... so that is now over

The quote, you know the words in the white box, was a post made by ahs06ulum. That person is the one that started "Tigerpride.."

Look back to page 7, I believe, and you will find the post by ahs06ulum directed at you. That is the post that I was referring too, it had nothing to do with you.

:)

Games for tomorrow (and my picks) are as follows:

Albert Lea at Owatonna, 7:30 (AL)
Austin at Mayo, 7:30 (Mayo)
Century at Faribault, 7:30 (Century? not sure on this one)
LeSeuer-Henderson at Mankato East, 7:30 (East)
Mankato West at Northfield, 7:30 (Nor sure here either mankato's inconsistency is a problem so i'll take Northfield)

Can someone who knows Faribault and Century a little more in depth help me out on that one?

Games Tuesday

Also Tuesday,

Waseca at Fairmont (Waseca should win this)

Based on what I've seen, Northfield should beat West.

Albert Lea should beat Owatonna.

I'm not sure about East and LeSueur. LeSueur is down this year and it will be a long year for East if they can't beat them.

When was Le Seur up?

Not sure about this Tues. but next Tues. New Ulm plays Marshall in New Ulm. Should be a great game, looking forward to this.

Haha golden jet ... come on ... LeSueuer wasn't bad the last couple of years.. they beat New Prague. . I know theyre not a traditional power but this year is not a good year for them it looks like.

I try to keep things positive on here, but frankly, I think it would be sweet if they beat East. Go Bulldogs.
