Hardly slamming the Bantam coach. Just pointing out that Hopkins good be doing better at selecting coaches instead of putting in coaches so there son can make the team. These are the facts. Hopkins program should not be lower echelon, as anybody that watches there youth program can see.
<img src="

The problem is that the guy that SW had the last two years was a young enthusiastic guy from a city school (South) who had playing experience at the USHL/D-1/D-3 levels and assistant experience that included a girls state championship with Blake. As problematic as the situation in Hopkins is, the Bantam A job (where you're coaching a group that includes a bunch of kids with at least some talent who will likely eventually leave) is (unfortunately) a more prestigious gig than the SW varsity job.

Will SPA have a team next year? It seems like a long time to wait while hiring a coach!

From what I heard they are still interviewing, the latest name to turn up is Craig Norwich

That would make things very interesting in the Tri-Metro in a few seasons. Where did you hear that?

Andover has a new head coach this season. Word is he teaches in the district and will be a lot more involved year round which is what a young program needs.

I think Andover hired Bill Thoreson. He coached the Edina girls varsity the past couple of years.

GR rumor

Bruce LaRoque is the head coach for 05-06. And I'm glad too. When things don't go right it isn't fair to always blame the coach. Rapids needs goaltending badly. Where are the goalies that can stop a breakaway. GR needs a goalie like CEC has that can just STEAL a game when they get outplayed. Like a 2-1 win being outshot 38-17 by a bloomington jefferson. When was the last time GR beat a top 10 team? Greenway 01-02 (ranked #1)?

I saw that Christian Koelling has been named the new coach at Duluth Central. He was the head coach of Duluth East Peewee a team. Is there any other Bantam of Peewee coaches out there across the state that would reasonably be considered for any of the high school coaching jobs? Who are some of the best at those levels that we may want to keep an eye on. Any thoughts from anyone? I know of two here in Hermantown........ Colin Anderson & Jeff Scissons. They are the bantam a coaches here, watch for them!

GO HAWKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For now, EP should feel extremely fortunate to have both Smith and his staff, and the bantam staff that they do. It's been a great combination. <img src=

Warroad Update

by Renegade Ram
Heard that Warroad is solving their problem with the Arena Board hanging an axe over Albert by hiring him as the head custodian at WHS. For you skeptics, this works well for everybody. This guarantees the current and future players no interference from the Marvin's over the coaching at the HS level for the next couple years. And it leaves the Arena Board the responsibility of finding someone to guide their "new visions" for the Gardens. I can almost bet that there'll be a hot line to The Patch reservation line connected the day he vacates the office.<img src=
