There are also only 24 games on that schedule. From Lake Superior Conference schedule for Cloquet:

https://www.lakesuperiorconference.org/ ... l=208-2-15,

Dec 13th @ Duluth East (missing from Hockey Hub)
Feb 4th @ Cloquet

Oh my goodness. I about had a heart attack. Thank you. I hope the hub schedule is incorrect and the MSHSL is correct.

Excellent. I’ve been living, every year since 2009-2010, my life looking forward to these 2 nights every winter more than any event(s) in sports 🤓

or Minnetonka doesn't have one? i don't know of any big rivalries like East/Cloquet in the Metro except for White Bear Lake and Hill.

Minnetonka, Wayzata and Edina have a long history of a threeway hate relationship. Who they each hate more generally depends on which one they play next.

Minnetonka rivalry is the Lake Conference and who they play next: Edina, Ep and Wayzata.

If you had to choose 1 team it would be Edina because everyone likes beating the Cake.

I sure wish CEC played Andover this year. It's crazy because CEC has been playing Andover year year I've been a fan since 2009-2010. East plays Andover and CEC and Duluth East twice.

You know why. Its was the 1 year coach and how he handled himself in Andover is the reason why.

Is that why the Spuds dumped CEC too?

Duluth Marshall and Grand Rapids. Who’s better on paper for next year. I would think Rapids with a nice Bantam AA coming in next year. Andover, East, and CEC look loaded. JP is the big, giant, key for the Elks. Time for 8 months of speculation to begin.

Yawn....Youth hockey has started and games are being played. Girls and boys High School hockey teams skating "captain's practice". I've filmed a couple peewee aa games and a bantam a game already, and I'm excited to get the high school season's rolling!

I haven’t seen much talk on this section, what’s going on besides East and Andover?
Cloquet, Halloween Machine?

Class: AA
Section: 7
9 teams in this section

Andover High School
second best - I would like to see them at state because their coach is a great guy, but not gonna happen
Cambridge-Isanti High School
decent football school, but a ways to go before contending in the hockey world. maybe 6th probably 7th
Duluth East High School
another trip to St. Paul, and a nice second place trophy
Forest Lake High School
maybe 4th maybe 5th but looking at 6th
Grand Rapids High School
at best 4th but probably on the road in February
Marshall School, Duluth
what were they thinking, looking at 5 or 6
St. Francis High School
another good football school, number 9
Cloquet High School (HOST)
3rd and a good run at Andover
Elk River High School (HOST)
there is always talk of the Elks but they have not been to the section finals since 2015, have not been to state since ???? 2005.

I don't know when, but I know they will not be in Anchorage.

Coming 'home' for Thanksgiving?

I agree pretty much. Elk/Rapids are the possible 4. After that, a miss mash. You can’t underestimate great coaching and a proven system. Duluth East has that advantage hands down in 7AA. Andover too has that somewhat. CEC 3 different coaches in 3 years. Shea Walters is a nice Coach. The kids have so much fun playing for him.

Elliott and I are pretty much in agreement.

1. Duluth East
-Very deep up front; keys will be sorting out the goaltending and getting some production alongside Donovan on the top line...which I think they can.
2. Andover
-Does the weak schedule help them get the 1-seed in QRF and land the top seed?
3. Cloquet
-Good in a lot of areas, but I'm not sure they can quite match the two above them in any area, and will probably have to go through both to win. I do like the new coaching staff.
4. Elk River
-A couple nice pieces, but is there any depth?
5. Grand Rapids
-Nowhere to go but up; great goalie and some young stars but the experience and upper-class talent isn't there yet.
6. Forest Lake
-Deep sleeper pick; they had a couple of Elite Leaguers and I could see them going higher, but not really a contender.
7. Duluth Marshall
-A couple pieces left, but their window has probably closed.
8. St. Francis
9. Cambridge

Andover probably needs to beat both DE and Tonka to get #1 seed in 7AA based on their NW Suburban dominated schedule

If they beat DE, and then if they sweep ER, Blaine & MG & beat Moorhead...they likely will be the top seed in 7AA, even if they lose to Tonka in HOCKEY DAY MN. If you look at Andover’s schedule compared to DE schedule, at least this year, I simply don’t think the hounds schedule is all that much tougher. DE plays Tonka & Andover in the regular season...but who else (besides Cloquet twice) do they play who’s REALLY GOOD? ☝️Maybe EP? DM is WAY down this year, WBL is down, Brainerd is decent, GR is down compared to 2-4 years ago. DE doesn’t play Edina, STA, CDH, CHASKA, neither does Andover.

Looks about right. I just hope GR can get better as the season goes along and maybe with a goalie like Clafton they can surprise someone in quarters. I would think next season Rapids will return as a legit contender.
