We'll see Spar. All I know is that there are many teams grateful they don't play in 6AA so they have a decent shot at making it to State. The sectional final results aren't in yet, but it looks like there are many legitimate contenders to the crown. Those who have been there before and fell to the blue army as well as heavily motivated newcomers. Can't wait for the results, seedings, and games to begin.

Busy and late night of hockey for MNHockeyFan, not that I'm complaining! Just to recap the Class AA scores from our final day of sectional play:

2AA
#1 Eden Prairie 4, #2 Edina 0

4AA
#1 Hill-Murray 4, #2 Stillwater 1

5AA
#1 Blaine 1, #3 Mounds View 2

6AA
#2 Benilde-St. Margaret's 3, #4 Wayzata 2

Mounds View becomes the only 3-seed in Class AA to advance to the State Tournament - a big congrats to the Mustangs!

I'll be working on the FINAL Leaderboard and hope to have it up before sunrise!

As with the Class A Pick the Winners thread, and for the record, here are the Class AA section winners and how they were seeded in their respective sections:

1AA - #1 Lakeville North

2AA - #1 Eden Prairie

3AA - #1 Burnsville

4AA - #1 Hill-Murray

5AA - #3 Mounds View

6AA - #2 Benilde-St. Margaret's

7AA - #1 Andover

8AA - #1 Roseau

Congratulations to all the players, coaches, parents and relatives who are going to the Big Dance!

And without further ado, here is how our Class AA contest finished up.

In what I believe is the closest finish in the entire history of Minnesota Girls High School Hockey Forum section prognostication contests, it is D6 Girls Fan who ekes out a one point gold medal victory over runner up and silver medalist fishfreak11. A real tough break for fishfreak11, who was also close in the Class A contest. fishfreak11 did get the score right in both the Hill-Murray/Stillwater and BSM/Wayzata games, but unfortunately had Edina beating Eden Prairie in the 2AA Final, a game that Gold Medal Champion D6 Girls Fan did not miss. So, congratulations to D6 Girls Fan who, along with Class A contest winner powerplayer, enters the extremely prestigious "Minnesota Girls High School Hockey Forum Prognosticator Hall of Fame." Meanwhile yours truly somewhat redeemed himself, after a very disappointing regular season (which had some critics whispering that I was over-the-hill and past my prime) - NOT! And I should also mention blondegirlsdad, who had a huge final day, adding 22 points and going from a tie for 10th place all the way to 4th, breaking the 100 point mark in the process. In so doing blondegirlsdad narrowly finished ahead - by a single point - over the ever-dangerous sinbin, who comes in 5th with an even 100 points (not quite up to his usual lofty standards...maybe next year....)

1. D6 Girls Fan - 107

2. fishfreak11 - 106

3. MNHockeyFan - 104

4. blondegirlsdad - 101

5. sinbin - 100

6. RailingWizardofOZ - 97

7. clutterbucket - 96

21. mrleft - 87

22. 36Guy - 84
Maverick2000 - 84
spars46 - 84

25. Knight7 - 82
hugo_lucas - 82

27. Antagonist - 81

28. One with 79

29. One with 76

30. One with 74

31. Two with 72

33. One with 68

34. Misterright - 9 (first ever prognosticator to fall into the "Minnesota Girls High School Hockey Forum Prognosticator Hall of Shame." :P

P.S. If anyone has any suggestions on ways to improve these contests - or if you would like to take over next year  - just send me a pm with your ideas! Thanks for participating - I've enjoyed hosting.

MNHockeyFan, thanks for hosting again We certainly get much more than our money's worth from you every season. It's also particularly gratifying to often show how little we know in a public setting.

*Happy Dance*

Last night was indeed a good night. Nice to hear that being a homer helps with the win.

Thanks MNHockeyFan for all the hard work!
