you also have to remember that East was unable to hold practice tuesday due to school canceled and FLake was able. could have played into the little bit of sloppiness on DE part. Also as for the Major on Moore that was a terrible call. I agree that was some shoddy refering
MNhockey29 wrote:Forest Lake/East game i thought was a very even game. Forest Lake could of won this game, their goalie was playing great. But it was stupid defensive mistakes that cost them the game. This will ne a good section game if they play in Amsoil.

Was it the same crew that did the Rapids/East game? The penalty on Holum that gave East the power play at the end of the game was very sketchy and then a little pushing at the end and Mann gets a game disqualification. It would be nice to know their names and write a letter to the MSHSL asking they not be allowed to ref the playoffs at Amsoil.

I was that game and there are not the same refs as last night, as for Mann he ran an East after the game. It was stupid and he deserved the DQ. Knowing who the refs were in the DE/GR game you will see them in the section playoffs..

Here where i see the seeding at as of today
1. DE ( even with a lost to CEC on 2/4 i think they stay 1)
2 GR ( tied CEC 2x and the win vs BSM helps)
3 CEC ( unless they lose to Andover)
4 ER ( beat Andover 2x but lost in OT to GR)
5 FLake ( beat GR but go pounded to CEC)
6 St Francis ( was the win vs GR)
7 Andover ( no sections win and not a good overall record, beating CEC would move them to 6 possibly 5)
8 STMA
9 CI

I agree with that. CEC and ER are still really close, Elk River does have a stronger schedule. The Elks need to pick up wins vs. Blaine and Centennial down the stretch. An interesting game is St. Francis vs. CEC two days before the seeding meeting.

That could jumble things up..

This is interesting, Cloquet plays Duluth East and Andover back to back at home on Feb. 4 and 5, Andover being the 2nd game. That could prove to be a trap game for the Jacks.

The Grand Rapids win over BSM means nothing...apparently the poor little tikes from the cities had cold fingers.

Elk River should only need to beat Centennial at home to get the 3 seed. They will have a hard time winning at Blaine. All other games they should be favored in.

i dont see ER getting 3 unless CEC loses to Andover.

Maybe I should write one...
The East team program actually includes the team's W-L record for every season. A few years ago I noticed the streak, and it's something that's been in the back of my mind ever since. I've probably mentioned it once or twice before on this forum.

It's difficult to say between these two teams, but CEC does play a very soft schedule outside of their section. I'm hoping Elk River gets the 3.

Because I WANT CEC vs. East in the noon game. The atmosphere will be great for that game while the Rapids and Elky fans fill in.

I wouldnt say nothing. It was a good win for them, especially since they have really disappointed this year. I really dont think that they deserve to be ranked 11th in the state, as they are on the hockey hub. Maybe if bischoff gets back to playing like he can, they have a shot. I wouldnt mind seeing them somehow play CEC in sections again, but thats doubtful. I hope the hounds' bump up in the rankings doesnt go to their heads and get that first line goin all the way to the X,

ER has 8 losses on the year, 6 to top ten teams plus 1 goal losses to GR and EP. No win over top ten teams though. They will beat Centennial at home and finish 16-9.
CEC has a win over an overrated Jefferson team and 2 ties vs GR on there resume against big schools. WBL win looking better, Hopkins?
They still play EP which beat ER, that game will be weighted heavily as a common opponent. Most of the copmuter ratings have it a dead heat. Will the Andover game be made up?
Tough call to make...

Instead of ripping Bruce online why don't you just walk into his office and tell him who you are and you think he should be replaced?

I already posted it, but CEC hosts Andover the day after they play East at home, Feb 5.

After this week I would say not too much as changed, other than I would put Forest Lake ahead of Andover. Cloquet is at home 5 of their last 7 and with the exception of Superior, they play all section games or games vs. common opponents with teams at 2-6. Elk River I give the 3 over Cloquet based on strength of schedule, the Elks have lost to mostly top 10 teams whereas Cloquet has losses to WBL and Hopkins and lacks a standout win outside of the 7-1 route of Forest Lake. Elk River has swept Andover, beat Moorhead and Holy Family. Andover's win over Eden Prairie keeps them above St. Francis who only has the upset win over GR and nothing else even close to a quality win. For anyone who wants to compare results: mnhockeyhub.com, followthepuck.com.
1. Duluth East
2. Grand Rapids
3. Elk River
4. Cloquet
5. Forest Lake
6. Andover
7. St. Francis
8. STMA
9. Cambridge
