How did the Elks Look the other night. I watched the game and playing 8 skaters didn't work out to well for you did it. The Elks came with three lines at you and worked their butts off and WOW the right team won. Your arrogance will be your downfall this season. Good luck next season.

LOL Good luck to you!
I never said one negative thing about Elk River nor have I bosted about the team my daughter plays on. The post you replied to was in response to playing a very good team and getting lucky enough to pull out a victory. It seems to me like you're the one bragging about your team. You're the one telling everyone how good your team is. Why don't ya take some of that black tape and slap it over your keyboard the next time you decide type something and maybe it will prevent you from looking like a fool, ya jackwagon!

That being said, Elk River looked very strong and aggressive. The team is quick and their forcheck is very aggressive. Great hockey and my daughter can't wait to play them again
IMHO of course.
Go Cougars.

Black tape,

I'm curious if the Edina game is really legit and something to be taking credit for??? I have heard a couple different stories about this game and would love your take. I also see that you play them in Duluth in the first round. I sure hope they don't get a hold of your bulletin board material...you know better than that - don't you?

Centennial takes down undefeated Chaska! Looks like they are the real deal-8 players or not. Duluth is shaping up to look like a great preview for the State Tournament.

Edina dad said that Elk River did win, but it wasn't a regulation game - something caused a shortened 3rd period. He wasn't bitter, but he said it wasn't really a whole game. He didn't seem too upset either way.

Really is that what he typed? Go back and take another look. I am pretty sure he didn't type what you just quoted him as typing. I just checked their website and it is listed at a 2 to 1 loss. LOL you cake eaters are classic sore losers.

Game 12/22/2010

Elk River 0 Vs Centennial 0

Centennial had 7 power plays and could not score. Two games vs the Elks and 0 goals. Ouch, back to the drawing board for the top 8 skaters on the team.

Where I come from that is called a win if you are up when the " final whistle blows" regardless the length of game. Maybe its different in Edina.

Ol' Black Tape you are really showing your insecurities. I just asked for your take on the Edina game. I don't remember saying anything about Edina fans complaining. In fact, one of the accounts of the game I heard was from an Elk River resident. OMG!!!!!! Good luck in Districts. I think with all your chatter your team is going to need it.

P.S. Is it a rule that you have to play a certain number of players?

I keep seeing reference to this "8 players" in this thread? What does that mean? A team only playing 8 of their players? A team only having 8 solid players, or what?

If it is referring to a team that is shortening it's bench and only playing their 8 best players on a regular basis to win games, then that is a little sad. While it is not against the rules for a coach to shorten their bench to win, it is surely a very short sided view of coaching. This is 12U traveling hockey, why in the world would you shorten your bench to win a scrimmage or a league game? Why would you tell those kids that sat that they are not good enough to play their shift?

The goal for all teams at this level should be to develop hockey players. In my humble opinion it is pretty hard to develop players if they aren't playing. I really hope that that is not what the reference to playing 8 players was all about.

As most of you know when you have 12 skaters on your team it presents challenges. We have had from 10-12 skaters during any given scrimmage/game this season. I just think Black Tape has a hard time following what is going on out there; if he is even there! He just likes to stoke the fire! Tough to shorten your bench with 11 skaters! 8 skaters? LOL

So I am curious then BT. How would you handle a bench of 10 to 12 skaters? What would you do differently? You seem so upset about the way Centennial does it, you must have an opinion on the matter. I believe I can speak for everyone on this blog in saying that we are all a flutter with anticipation in getting an insight to one of the most prolific minds in hockey. Enlighten us.

Why wouldn't Centennial have 15 skaters like any of the big programs do? With all those kids up there? Don't they have 2 B teams? I would short those squads and help them develop.

I've noticed several teams don't have 15 skaters. Too many kids for two teams, but not quite enough for three is getting to be common. It's a problem, but much less a problem than too many players for one team, not enough for two.

36 skaters @ Centennial.......shorten the bench of which team? 12-12-12 is the best solution....Hey Tape....skated 10 tonite...1 sick & 1 on vacation...we shortened the bench by two water bottles...sorry!

we played elk river 12a this morning for the 2nd time. they came out strong. they kept working hard the whole game.i think our team needed to work on that. they had a strong defensive line too.i noticed 12 and 15 the most out of all defense.were very strong defense.agressive and they were big and had speed.the whole team is going to go places...i dont like elk river that much, but they were good.hats off to ya.

BLACKTAPE:i also saw the centennial versuus elk river game.you hear all talk about centennial but i found it funny how they cant score one single goal on elk river! lol

lol good luck to all teams

I heard a rumor that Elk River and Stillwater were beat by Cloquet last week. Our neighbors to the south are always capable of rising to the occasion and putting a hurt on...
