Team to beat? I was looking at scores earlier and Litch isn't very good. Granted hutch beat new ulm, but new ulm beat litch 7-1 while hutch only won 4-2? I don't think we can say ANYONE is the team to beat. It's still wide open. I'd have to say it's still up for grabs between Hutch, New Ulm, and Willmar.

Yeah, Hutch is the team to beat right now
-Hutch is 5-0 and has beat New Ulm and Litchfield (both road games)
-RedWood Valley is 6-2 winning its last 6 games, one of those against Marshall
-New Ulm is 5-2 and one of those loses to Hutch (4-1)
-Litchfield is 2-3 and has lost to hutch and New Ulm
-Marshall is 4-2 and has lost to New Ulm and Redwood
-Wilmar is 2-3 and has lost its last three games one of those being against New Ulm
-Windom is 2-3 losing to marshall and redwood
-Luverne is 2-3 beating fairmont and losing to redwood and windom
-Fairmont is 1-5 beating only sleepyeye
-Worthington is 1-3 with a win against sleepyeye
-Sleepy Eye is 0-5 and has yet to win a game

Based on this, the sections look like this in MY OPINION (as of right now):
1.Hutchinson
2.RedWood Valley (Maybe more around 5th but on a good streak right now)
3.New Ulm (Probably should be 2nd but Redwood is playing hot)
4.Litchfield (interchangeable with Marshall and Wilmar)
5.Marshall (lost to everyone on top of them and beat almost everyone below them)
6.Wilmar (probably better than marshall but has lost last 3 games)
7.Windom
8.Luverne
9.Fairmont
10.Worthington
11.Sleepy Eye

How does it put new ulm to the top? you have a loss to another team in the section and beat another by only one(willmar). So im afraid its going to be hard to ever get to the top untill playoffs.
You from new ulm?

That's a very good point. That is an impressive score but hutch still has the edge, they beat new ulm. It's as simple as that. But new ulm can gain recognition with more wins like that.
Here's how i look at it:
1. Hutch (undefeated season and beat a very hot new ulm team already)
2. New Ulm (on a roll. won five-straight games, two of those willmar and fairbault)
3. Willmar (good positioned team, needs more scoring. But have some guys who can fly)
4. redwood valley (a big drop-off from willmar, but better than the others)
5. Litch
6. Marshall
7. Luverne
8. Windom
9. Fairmont
10. Worthington
11. Sleepy Eye

Hutch- Plays in or at Ashland Wisconsin on the 29th, Ashland is 3-3 playing wisconsin teams so i am guessing hutch will just be wasteing gas

New Ulm- Playing in the Duluth Marshall Hilltopper tournament the 29-31 should be their test of the year before playoffs

Litch- Playing in the Granite city classic, from a lil research sounds like it's in Illinois on the 30-31?

Willmar- Playing in Fargo/shanelyon the 31st, should be pretty good competition

Redwood Valley- Not playing anywhere

Not like anyone else really matters, but i feel like we will find out a lot about New Ulm by how they do in Duluth

You need to do some more research, Why in the world would a little Class A school from Minnesota even think about going to Illinois to play HS hockey? The Granite City Classic is in St. Cloud at the MAC. Here is a link for you. http://www.rinkwriter.com/GCC/2008gcclassic.html

Willmar is not playing in Fargo, they are at their own Tournament in Willmar from the 29-31 and play Marshall, River Lakes and Fargo Shanly . Wow, where do you come up with this stuff :lol:http://www.rinkwriter.com/willmarbuscup.htm

Check out the brackets on the Willmar Tourney....strange

Score from Tuesday night in Luverne--8(Luverne) 5(Marshall)
Paquette 6 goals for Luverne...

by sregit34
sounds like paquette beat marshall singlehandedly. Luverne doesnt have much else. according to pointstreak marshall outshot luverne 35-30 so shots were pretty close.

Hutchinson's game against the Saints in the Silver Bay tournament counts as a tie officially because it went to two overtimes, the second was played 3 on 3. Still undefeated, but not unblemished.

I see that Hutch has some big games coming up, how will they do?

I see Hutch lost 8 - 1, but it was 0 - 0 after the first. I still think right now Hutch is the team to beat in the sec, but they have many tough games to play yet, my mind might change down the road.
