Edina Hornets being fitted for glass slippers

Post by O-townClown »

The entire State of Hockey will hold its collective breath as a rag tag bunch of lowly public school kids represents the sport's blue-collar heritage, soldiering into battle against evil empire private schools Blake, Benilde-St. Margaret's & Cretin-Derham Hall.

A private school will need to break through a mountain of support from all directions in order to make an appearance at the X.

Thi thread about Edina or Hermantown? I mean they are in the same boat: just look at their competition: historic programs like Eveleth and Greenway plus city rival Denfeld. It would be quite the run if that rag tag team can over-come that to come out of Section 7. A real Mighty Ducks story in real life.

I know it was meant as sarcasm O town.......but one of the best posts of the year. The best part is it’s probably true. I know I’ll be cheering for Edina to come out of 6AA.

I see no connection at all between Hermantown and Edina. The hornets reach for the top and try to achieve greatness.

I’ll be cheering for Edina through sections. They make it to state, different story. No other team like Hornets hockey that I can think of.

My educated guess would be the average income of an Edina family exceeds that of a Cretin family by quite a bit.

Though I do remember a state championship game where the crowd started out 16,000 against Edina and by 5 minutes into the 3rd period became 16,000 for Edina. A true feather in Lakeville North’s cap. To be able to make Edina a crowd favorite is a rare accomplishment.

Non sense. Hill has been doing that for decades. Nothing to it.
