Re: Transfers 2022-23
The ol' rumor mill is turning alot slower this year, not hearing much other than one of Blaine's top players may be heading to Maple Grove. Not verified yet, so I'm not naming the suspect.

Re: Fall Hockey
Why don't some players nominated by their respective coaches get an opportunity to try out? I don't know what the magic formula is. I do know some coaches nominate every player on their roster that's eligible, and many of them just aren't realistic candidates. Only so many can tryout... There is al...

Elite League - Run by Os Hockey in conjunction with MN Hockey as a Tier 1 Program for 15U Girls and older. Tryout is by invitation only - players must be nominated by their HS Coaches but not all nominated players get to tryout. Players that make USA Hockey National Camp are automatically invited. T...

Re: An early look at top teams for '22-23
Appreciate the analysis and insight! Few thoughts: I knew Holy Family lost a lot, but didn't add up the players/point production that graduated. They still have a few solid players left but I don't think Tonka will be nearly as worried about them as last year in 2AA. Unless they have Tonka or Andov...

Muetzel is gone, Anderson will be the 3rd wheel on the line with Ahern and Broz. Thanks!

Re: Recruiting 22,23 and 24 class.
My daughter (forward) was informed last week by Holy Cross that they had filled their 2023 Class. I suspect they may have been letting her down gently as she's not a strong D1 prospect but maybe they're really full? If that's the case with (and other schools), I wonder if some of the girls mentioned...

Re: 2022 Class AA State Tournament
Appreciate this discussion - a couple of thoughts... Tonka Talent - from the get-go there were questions about how all that individual talent would work together. Clearly they can play and I agree that they're the second best team in the state. They'll be more seasoned when we reconvene in November ...

Re: 2022 Class AA State Tournament
What are you, the message board objectivity police? If so, you've got bigger issues in the world than this board. Of course it's not objective. But it's opinion rooted in seeing these teams and their peers play a lot of games. Which points I made do you disagree with? No just the b.s. police. :) To...

Re: Scoring by top HS players - grades 12, 11, 10 and 9
Rankings are just for fun - sports comes down to results on the field of battle. Unfortunately, we'll never know if Lakeville South could play with one of the top ten teams - they never played them. That had to be by design right? With their talent I would have guessed plenty of teams wanted to ska...

Re: Scoring by top HS players - grades 12, 11, 10 and 9
Also - what impact does power play time have on stats? Assuming most of these skaters were first team PP but if not... Full disclosure - asking for a resident of my home who had almost zero no PP time this season but 20 points during 5 on 5 play against a decent schedule...is that something worth po...

Re: Week 6
My comment wasn't intended to impugn O'hara or Goodreau - both are very good players - high end. I was more making a point about their top line, which includes those two and I believe a 7th grader. That 7th grader looks like she is a future star, but she is serving as the third component of a top A...

Re: Week 5 Games of the Week
Fritz has carried CDH for three seasons, she doesn't get enough recognition for how good she is. Last night she passed out on the ice from the heat in the building (it was hot - ice took forever to set up) and the Stillwater attack, her backup had to take over with 20 seconds left in OT. Ponies cont...

Re: What we learned after week 2?
Some good ones tonight.... Benilde @ Stillwater Maple Grove @ Wayzata Rogers @ Andover (they hung with the Hornets, can they do the same with the co #1?) Hill @ Edina Holy Angels @ Orono (the Stars are young and talented) BTW Chisago didn't need to worry about goaltending Tuesday night - dropped 12 ...

Re: What we learned after week 2?
Edina largely controlled play throughout the game. Edina scored a couple early and HF never really fought back. I made the comment last week, HF does not play much of a team game. They get rushes up ice but rarely get set up in the offensive zone when at even strength. And they get lots of dumb/laz...

Re: What we learned after week 2?
Wayzata at Centennial/SLP tonight. Wayzata has established their credentials already this season, the Cougars can do the same tonight with a strong performance. Both teams quietly playing really good hockey. Rogers is interesting, saw them play opening night and their first group was really good. Di...

Re: Games of the week.
Centennial/SLP rolls over a decent FL team 6-0 - they good. Wayzata with a big win over HM (Pioneers are pretty young, Zahn is hurt, and Reid is playing everyone) Minnetonka comes back to beat Stillwater - Grace Sadura wins the contest for most mentions in a box-score with 2 goals (including the OT ...

Gentry @ Rosemount - The Irish smoked CL on Saturday...where did that come from? For real? They have Eastview this week too. Rogers @ Brainerd/Little Falls and Grand Rapids/Greenway - saw Rogers last week, their top group is really good. Centennial/SLP @ Forest Lake and Roseau - Cougars are solid up...

Re: Pre season scrimmages first weekend
Tough to take much out of the games at Parade... Mpls beat CDH 2-0 but most of the play was in the Raiders offensive zone. Mpls goaltender was fantastic and Midtbo had both goals on really nice individual plays. Top group for Mpls was solid. Mpls and Brainerd tied 2-2 Albert Lea was a little out of ...
