Re: 20-21 season
My spies are telling me they think the best case-scenario for starting is teams hitting the ice on the 21st but no games until after the first of the year. Conventional wisdom says the season will extend through March or beyond with Section play a possibility if things get under control. State tourn...

Re: High school season
Girls' season begins one week later due to Vollyball's later finish (relative to football). Same number of games.

Re: Elite league
I don't really know the coach, only met him once. Just know he has some nice players on his roster, especially in the 2023 group (my daughter is in that class but doesn't typically get the call to skate with that bunch). I am happy to see (MSHSL willing) my daughter's team will be heading to Victori...

Re: Elite league
HF has a ton of young talent, their 2023's are very, very good and they added others (not sure of the names) The schedule has been upgraded too - they're definitely going to have it a little tougher. Might not have the horses to get past Tonka this year, but they're doing everything right to make th...

Re: Quarantined training...what are people doing with no rinks open?!?
With you on this one. Reports from Dakotah are ok. Older kids showing up early and mingling, huge face-to-face time during transitions from one group to the next, and (least surprisingly) parents sneaking in to watch when the rules are clear. Winny has pushed Prospects/Futures back to July and Augus...

Re: COVID now affecting summer hockey / showcases
I've had a few conversations with my rink-manager friends about the timeline. I think everyone has been resigned to a June 1 start date as a best-case scenario. They've already worked up a set of protocols for getting the kids back on the ice. Get ready for home dressing, no locker rooms, and parent...

Mine stickhandles and shoots just about every day, varies the running/stretching/laying on the ground pretending to workout while she watches tik-toks, and routinely ignores the hockey videos her Dad forwards to her. Agree that the break has been good for her to recover too but she's going nuts bein...

Visitation posted an opening for a Girls' Hockey Coach. Either they found a partner or they're flying solo starting next season.

Re: End of an Era?
That would be an interesting pairing - two pretty good rivals (SSP and United). SSP may not have numbers, but they have some real talent and one of the best coaches in the business. Hope we get to see the kids on the ice this season!

Re: End of an Era?
I think the breakdown was about 50/50 (don't quote me). There were only 8 girls returning next season, not sure what the 9th grade numbers would be in the Fall.

Re: Performances Worth Noting
Olivia Mobley had 8 points last night against a better-than-average Chisago Lakes team. She's the best player in Girls HS Hockey right now, absolutely dominating. And she's not just putting up points against soft opponents, multi point games against top teams...only Edina has shut her down. Has to b...
