Champlin Park/Coon Rapids
CP/CR is 4-0 on the season. Watching scores from California, I know little about rosters and expectations going into the season. That said, it surprises me these two schools had to combine but happy to see them having some success this year. Was this expected?
Re: Champlin Park/Coon Rapids
Champlin Park/Coon Rapids has been a combined program on the girls' side since at least 2017 so that's not a new thing. It's probably one of the the largest programs in the state in terms of combined enrollment, with over 4,100 students between the two high schools. Their facilities are very good as they use both the Coon Rapids Ice Center and the Champlin Ice Forum so no reason they reason they shouldn't be a competitive program.
They have a young, but very talented team with a real strong sophomore class. Despite losing two talented players from last year's team to the MIAC in Kylie Scott (Gustavus) and Brooklyn Johnson (St. Ben's) they do return a good chunk of their scoring. Obviously, their schedule is challenging in the Northwest Suburban Conference with Andover, Maple Grove and Centennial all very strong programs.

Big weekend for CP/CR as they head north to take on Warroad tonight and Crookston tomorrow. Tonight’s game should be a very good barometer for where the team is
