Shakopee
Are they for real?
Shak is 9-0-1 and Simon, Rein, and Huth all have double digit goals with over 20 points.
Lookout for their game vs. AHA on January 20th.

Re: Shakopee
That game will end with running time, Shakopee has no chance to stay close with AHA.

Re: shakopee
I am giving Shakopee all the credit in the world for their accomplishments so far this year, but to say they will stay with AHA is, in my opinion, a false statment. I do not look at every team in the Missota as a push over and Greg Trebil will also say that, but unless both goalies go down and the defense is blasted and the first line is not in tact the game will not be close. Look at what happened in the Schwan's tornament. Those were some tough games and AHA proved that they are again a top team. Shakopee is a good team and will more than likely be the third team in the Missota behind AHA and Red Wing.
________________________________
Academy of Holy Angels
2005 GIRLS STATE CHAMPS!
2002 & 2005 BOYS STATE CHAMPS!!
GO STARS!!

Re: shakopee
Very well stated Zamm, i totally aggree. On another note, Section 5 will be tough this year.

Are you guys kidding?
Shakopee is nothing... Their schedule is terrible. They havent played the breck, blake, or totino or st. louis park powerhouses of A. And there is no way they will come close to AHA. Holy Angels is way too powerful!

Re: Are you guys kidding?
You dont know what you're talking about. I've seen them play 3 times. There top two lines are very strong, they can score against anyone. They probably wont beat AHA - who will? But they can certainly play with anyone in Class A.

Breck is good, Blake +/-, TG is good, SLP is probably the best of the three. One of them will be at State, my bet is on SLP.

Re: Are you guys kidding?
Any team undefeated this far into the season has to be tough,
but they tied Orono who is 4-5-1 and got 7th in the Schwan Cup Bronze division

Re: Shakopee
It's ridiculous to dismiss a team with a 9-0-1 record as "nothing" or "terrible."

You are correct in stating that they haven't played too many strong teams, but give them some credit for their record. A lot of teams have had average schedules, but Shakopee is unbeaten. If you're looking for a better word, try "unproven" or "untested."

It looks like Shakopee and Faribault are the two teams that will contend for the Section 6A title.

Re: Shakopee
I guess you have to call them one of the top teams until they get beaten, if they get beaten.

Re: Shakopee
what about STA? They are a huge powerhouse is A. Shakopee tied orono with a 2 goal comeback at home. STA dominated Orono away. Just one example. If Shakopee somehow gets to state they'll get owned, just like last year. They also were within 1 goal of losing to Lourdes, who are not very good at all. They've had an easy schedule. Nothing else. You put STA, Breck, Blake, Marshall, Hibbing, Virginia, Warroad, any other good A team in their schedule and they'd be undefeated too and with probably more pts across the board.

Re: Shakopee
Last year Farmington was pumped as Shakopee is, they were 10-0-1 when AHA visited them in Farmington. The outcome was as it normally is, around 8 - 1.
________________________________
Academy of Holy Angels
2005 GIRLS STATE CHAMPS!
2002 & 2005 BOYS STATE CHAMPS!!
GO STARS!!

Re: Shakopee / ZAMMAN
WELL SAID. This is how farmington started out last year. Then when you hit the harder part of your games you find out how good you really are. Its hard to beat alot of the same teams twice. I dont think shakopee is three lines deep? If they prove me wrong, they will go a long ways. GOOD LUCK TO THEM.

Re: Shakopee / ZAMMAN
Ok.... ill hand it to you that Shakopee wont beat Holy Angels Co stars, but they will give them a fight, just like they did last year the second time they played them. Second off put havran in and they will see a good game because he is one of the worst goalies in the state. lastly playing holy angels can be looked at like going to the dentist, twice a year and it sucks going. I sure had fun last year watching shakopee hold the Co Stars to 3 goals.

teams with good records
i believe a few years ago Wadena went into state undefeated and got destroyed by double digits twice. so yes you can still bad mouth teams with good records. just my 2 cents

Re: teams with good records
Is Havran even still playing with AHA?
Put Havran in net and you'll see a good game.
Why?
You have to remember, Havran used to play for Shakopee so I think the game would be interesting to watch.

Re: Shakopee
Asolo1 - first off get it right. They are the STARS, I was a Co*star, and Havron can beat anyone. He is not the back-up because he sucks!!! He is good enough to be the back up and, I am real sorry but if he had stayed at Shakopee he would be the one holding them in all their games. Mr. Havron is a little on the crazy side, but he is a goalie and you should know how they are. He may have let in a couple of soft goals against Centennial, but who knows the outcome was a tie and he was in there for the shoot out. Havron is ok in my book....
________________________________
Academy of Holy Angels
2005 GIRLS STATE CHAMPS!
2002 & 2005 BOYS STATE CHAMPS!!
GO STARS!!
Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... >Zamman at: 1/2/06 3:51 pm

Havron
Ok Zamman, he would not hold Shako in games, in fact his drug problem would have gotten him suspended.... if Loiselle was to step in there and say something. Second off Holy Angels does not need great goalies, not when your in the missota. I mean an all star team plays the average teams huh, real easy for baribal to score many. I think someone should give the co-stars an iq test, probably so that half of them dont have the grades to make it into AHA. Its the Academy of Hockey Allstars

Re: Havron
A solo 1, where are you coming from. AHA is the STARS, not Co*stars. I could have sworn that AHA just won the gold division of the Schwan's cup and there were no other teams from the Missota in the tournament.
I see now you are getting defensive... taking shots at Barriball. I guess the leaders of Shakopee's team would not be leading the league in goals if Shako was not in the Missota. Praise them for what they have accomplished, both Shakopee and AHA.
And lastly, Barriball scored 5 goals and had 3 assists in this tournament compared to the 2 goals and 4 assists for the two Missota conference games he has played.
________________________________
Academy of Holy Angels
2005 GIRLS STATE CHAMPS!
2002 & 2005 BOYS STATE CHAMPS!!
GO STARS!!

Re:
Oh burn...Zamman is dominating you the asolo1. Don't even try to fight back. Shakopeeeeee has no chance against AHA plain and simple. AHA is just too good for Shakopee and pretty much every other team in the state.

Re: Havron
I never said bariball isnt good!! In fact i know he is good... dang good. But isnt it sad that people have to leave their hometowns to go to state?

New Prague
I was just going to comment on that. I don't care how good you are, and I know anything can happen any game, but if you lose to New Prague, there's no way you can continue to talk about beating AHA.
