In a game today between St. Louis Park and Chisago Lakes, Brad Skolnick of St. Louis Park went head first into the boards after trying to check a CL player. He was on the ice for 30 minutes, and only twitched a few times. It was pretty scary. Anyone have any word on how he's doing? <p></p><i></i>

Brad is at HCMC. He is moving his extremities but apparently doing okay. <p></p><i></i>

We just got back from the game, I talked to Steve, a very close family friend, he will be staying with Brad at least overnight at HCMC, He has movement in his fingers and toes, and is in an extreme amount of pain, we will have to wait for all the tests, but it appears he will be ok, please put him in your prayers for sure, Park lost there bearings a little after this happened, shots were 46 to 46, in 6-4 Park win <p></p><i></i>

It really makes me sad and disappointed that some care more about the f'n shots than the health of Brad! <br><br>Think about it!<br><br>What if was you, your son, your friend, your teammate!<br><br>We are concerned and care deeply about his health and hope for a rapid recovery. Just an aside on Brad Skolnick, Brad lost his father, who was a few days shy of 48 yrs, back in March. This sudden and shocking loss left everyone unprepared and has left a huge void in this small circle of enthusiasts. <br><br>There was a memorial for Chuck just prior to Park's first game of the year (against Edina) at SLP arena. For those of you who may view a game there, there is a memorial plaque displayed on a stand at the top of the stairs to the stand. Please stop, read and pay your respects. Why am I saying this?...because Chuck was a man that game his all to Minnesota hockey in the Twin Cities and was instrumental in developing SLP current team while the kids were still playing PeeWee and Squirts. He also had a hand in developing other outstanding players in the West suburbs.<br><br>Brad Skolnick went out and scored the first goal against Edina in a 3-2 victory helping SLP get the season off on the right foot. May the grace of Chuck, and I emphasize GRACE because that was how he was, continue to shine down on Brad and his lovely and strong widow Brenda.<br><br>Kudos to Steve Strouts who has graciously and enthusiastically stepped in to assist in all aspects.<br><br>Please add your prayers for Bradley... <p></p><i></i>

I do not care more about the shots that Brad's health. I merely corrected someone when they printed the incorrect number of shots. That was just a game, what Brad is going through is real life. <p></p><i></i>

this happened to a teammate of mine last year, and he is still battling the effects. It is a very tough thing for all players and teammates, as well as the family. Prayers are with Brad and his family, get well soon. <p></p><i></i>

According to friends of the Skolnick family, Brad will apparently be released from the hospital this evening. He will be in a neck brace for several weeks. His MRI suggested that he had no spinal cord damage but he is apparently still in quite a bit of pain.<br><br>Good news for a solid hockey and soccer player and intense competitor. His stats suggest that he has been a major contributor to SLP this season. <br><br>We all wish Brad a speedy recovery. <p></p><i></i>
