Are the Rams for Real?

Post by snipe14 »

The way this team came together vs. #1 Hibbing yesterday was something I have never seen. Four unanswered goals to win 4-3 in OT. I have been to INNUMERABLE high school games in my life and this was one of the best games I have ever witnessed. I think that they just proved that they are for real and I look forward to finally watching the Rams again in March at the X!

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... snipe14 at: 12/18/05 4:46 pm

I'm sure the Rams will give Moorhead all they can handle for the section title this year. It will come down to who improves the most between now and the end of February. Right now those two are pretty even.

Just for the sake of accuracy, Hibbing isn't the #1 ranked team in Class A. Duluth Marshall is number one in all of the polls I've seen. Hibbing is still a respectable 3rd, though. The Pagestat2 rankings are still using last year's games too heavily to be an accurate reflection of this year if that's where you got it from. By the end of the month those should start reflecting only this year's play.

Any time two teams play each other to OT in a game, it's a toss up any time they meet the rest of the year. Roseau seems to be for real after some great games this week. I'm pullin' for the Rams to win 8AA just to have someone different there.

"the rams can play with any team in the state" well technically any team can play with any team, whether they can play competitively is a whole nother question

Bad Analogy

Post by Renegade Ram »

Roseau has been downplaying Single A hockey ever since they MOVED to AA after an unsuccessful stint in A. Now some Ram fan is trying to say the Rams are for real by beating a Class A school after already losing to two Class A schools. You guys can't have it both ways, you have decided to play AA hockey on your own. To be for real you need to beat your AA opponents. Funny, Rams are 4 - 3 out of those games 5 have been against Class A opponents and are 1 - 1 versus their AA opponents - some tough AA schedule. As of right now they aren't "for real", when they string together 12 in a row I'll say they are for real.

What!!

True, the Rams have always preferred to go after the AA title while other schools chose the A route to glory. The debate has been overly done.

Funny how the A schools yip when they knock off an AA school, but downplay it when an AA school knocks off an A school. Class A always has had very talented teams, ala Warroad last year. Chose the route you want to go and live with it. The Rams chose the AA route, and play some very good A teams along the way.

You guys can't be that sanctimonious or forgetful can you?

Wrong again

Being an ex-Ram yourself, you should know it is exactly TRUE what I said. The Rams prefer to go after the AA title.

crosscheck get real

Post by Renegade Ram »

If they preferred playing for the big title they should have NEVER played Class A which they DID. They had a choice to go AA at the time of the split and DIDN'T UNTIL they knew they had a team with a chance for the AA crown. Get your facts straight buddy...I don't see where I'm wrong at all; your the one with the short memory or do they call it selective memory. And if it's selective it's wrong....Ask Bruce how many nightmares he had after Eades got done with him in the Class A sectionals...

The topic is in fact, Are the Rams for real? Right now you have to say they aren't, yet anyway. There schedule has 9 AA games, 13 A games and 3 ND opponents. I would say they are for real if they can string together 12 wins (they already have 2 of them) before the next Moorhead game at home. IF they are in that position and beat or play Moorhead even at that point they are definitely for real. Looking at their schedule if they are for real they should have at least 20 regular season wins. That means they have room for only two more losses which is I believe achievable if like some say they really are for real. Only time will tell.

The Rams probably can play with any team in the state, but when it comes to the end of the year Moorhead wont let them take the section title... I would love to see the Rams back at the X this season though.
