Win is a Win
Just got home and it was ugly to say the least. Some of the B & G crowd was chanting "Let's Go Roseau" half way through the first period. Cooper had the mystery major CFB and "The Scowl" Jerome was even worse. Counted the scoresheet after the second - Warroad 7 minors, 1 Major & DQ, (3) 5 - 3 opportunities against including during the major. Bemidji 3 minors. Score after 2 periods 2 - 1 Warroad. Warroad 1 even strength (first five minutes, then penalties hit), 1 PP - Bemidji 1 PP (5 on 3). Third period Warroad's gassed from playing shorthanded first two periods but manage to get the job done. Gamewise: Warriors, Five on Five dominant, Five on Four even. Five on Three struggle but only gave up one out of three. Shots for third period Warriors 8 Bemidji 3 game 20 each. Felt as if the B & G had one hand tied behind their back all night. Losing Harren for Hibbing will make it very interesting.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... m>Renegade Ram at: 12/14/05 1:47 am

In Bemidji
Incredibly it was at the fieldhouse - hopefully it was scheduled there before we gave them the needle on here for playing at the practice rink. Funny, second period after we got off a penalty when it usually happens we had too many men on the ice. Guys screaming "Too many men, blah, blah", the linesman had it right away this guys still screaming I turn to the guy and say the linesmens got it. The doofus screaming Beaver Head Coach Serratore REAL impressive. Was spouting up until that point finally shut his mouth.

Jo-Jo was skating down the lane in front of the boxes I didn't see if the guy he collided with was coming in or going out of the box but I saw the collision which was actually from the side and was totally incidental the guy just appeared by the door for the Bemidji box which was open, the kid didn't hit it came close. Basically ran the kid over in front of the box he didn't have anywhere too go as it was a clogged mess in front of the bench. But their bench lit up and I know the guy made the call from the reaction and was talked into the major off the bench. Funny, Bemidji had an obvious CFB not even called a Board later. I know Albert read the riot act to the official that skated by the box and chirped at him. If I see that clown Jerome again this season it will be too soon, makes Wormy look like he should be in the WCHA. Calls made we play without our sniper against Hibbing.

Try reading the sixth post up. Win is a Win, it explains it and has your shot totals.

CFB
I spoke with Joe after the game - he had no problem with the call - just the severity of the penalty as there was no intent to injure.
Warroad out played Bemidji, but as seems to be the way for Bemidji this yeat - they manage to hang close and make a game of it - with or without the penalty calls.

I saw you talking with him
I think we all could have lived with a 2 and 10 as like I said it looked and was incidental. The major was overboard and losing him for the next one is the tough part. That's where the negative waves are coming from, it was a jobbing by Roseau boys. I believe if he plays the second and third period after serving a 2 - 10 we don't have to shuffle the lines and win this one going away. Bemidji didn't keep this one close, Warroad did by not burying their ample and better scoring opportunities even though they were short-handed. Curious, you really think this was a close game other than the scoreboard and "announced shots"?

Re: I saw you talking with him
I obviously didn't see the game, but to say it was a jobbing by Roseau officials is kind of childish. Bad reffing is in the eye of the beholder. I actually got a call from a buddy of mine in Bemidji and he thought Warroad should have been whistled for a few more. Again, I wasn't there, but I think the "Roseau" refs could really careless who wins a Warroad/Benmidji game. I remember a few years back when Smo reffed a Warroad/Eastside game. Eades came unglued after the first period when the calls were 6-0 in favor of Eastside. He caught Smo after the period and lit him up for his horse#&%#
reffing. Smo replies, I know the reffing was horse&*^^ and I will apologize to the Eastside coach, we should called 12 penalties on you guys.

Re: I saw you talking with him
well, as an innocent bystander who was not at the game. I have been to alot of Warroad and Roseau games I should say sec. 8 in general. here is a list of poor refs in both towns as I see it.
Warroad- Storey Ron, Montebello is awful. Ulwelling.

Roso- Jerome is as bad as Montebello. remember Carson? and last but not least Markstrom.

I have never had a prob. with Smo or Earl. I also don't believe I have ever been to a game that more penalties could not have been called. just my 2cents

game
I lost my detailed reply during a phone call...

Have to run...
short version

Warroad was the dominate team...
but it was not going to be running time...
Moorhead was more dominate and Bemidji stayed close for most of the game...

As the year goes by Bemidji will be tougher as the Bantam players (4 or 5 playing major roles) & last year's JV guys get more experience.

No doubt about the move ups
Good to see the sophomores from both teams play well. Ravendalen had the GWG. And G & W the jobbing was a jab about the major it REALLY wasn't warranted. Could have called thirty more on both teams together but who's counting. Point is Jerome had his "game face" on when he hit the ice. It's that same look Ronny and Block get and right away you know it's going to be a long night. In fact, when the refs hit the ice last night my comment I let slip was a soft & simple "Ah, Crap"..

Re: No doubt about the move ups
Hey Billy MacDonald or Renegade Ram or whatever it is this year....rip the referees all you want...but are you honestly referring to Tom Serratore BSU coach as a doofus???
