I'm pretty sure Walker and Wahlin played high school. Not sure about the other 2 mentioned and Kielly was a bantam.

Many kids play varsity that are "Bantam age" they just are not Bantam eligible once they play at the MSHL level.

Only taking 11 forwards?
No Tyler Nanne? That has to hurt
He is now listed on a roster at the national camp. How does that happen? Kind of like his brother getting drafted in the NHL?

I will make a prediction here: Tyler Nanne will get drafted in the NHL draft!

I think fairness requires that we note that Tyler Nanne, and especially Vinni Lettieri, are both viewed as quite promising players who would be getting plenty of attention and opportunities regardless of their family history.

Folks-it is a trick pulled by minnesota hockey to get an extra Minnesota player to Lake Placid. Leave off the Nanne kid, then Lou and Marty make the calls to get there own on the team. In the end, MN gets to send an extra kid.

Brilliant!!

After 3 games there are several Minnesota players in the top 10 scoring, including Gersich who is leading; and both Minnesota goalies are in the top 7.

Ahh, my mistake. They list him as D on the USA Hockey site so I assumed he was playing there for this event. I guess I shouldn't take it for granted that they have their info completely accurate.

Curious as to why Malmquist is off to such a slow start? Any thoughts? I have not been following to closely, but I always thought that Malmquist wasn't too far behind Gersich...but it doesn't look like that in this camp.

A lot of factors but I'll start with team and linemates. So many kids are out for themselves that team play can go out the window. Playmakers can be left hoping to get the puck that never comes. Of course that approach doesn't work for the player or the team.

Somone mentioned some Minnesota boys skating together and that can be huge as trust is a big factor. Glad to hear, and see in the stats, the Minnesota boys are doing well.
