Tournament OT Rules
I was at the game today watching Eagan and Lakeville play for 3rd place(JGB). Both teams were playing hard. Good goals and saves. Regulation time ended with both teams tied. The first OT was 5 on 5...still tied. Second OT was 4 on 4...still tied. Third OT was 3 on 3...still tied. Forth OT was 3 on 3 with no goalie! Yes, no goalie! My understanding is this OT format was used yesterday also. You cannot make this up. This is one of the dumbest ways to end a hockey game. The players deserve better.

Championship Game
Two amazing teams, indeed. The 4th overtime w/o goalies, definitely should be changed to a shoot out format in the future. The deciding factor for the game was winning the faceoff, maintaning posession and control, and making the goal "inside the blueline" as the teams were directed. Long shots were not allowed.
The highlight of the game was watching the Hornets kill a penalty when Minnetonka had a 4v3 advantage for five minutes. Probably one of the best penalty kills that I have ever seen! Edina deserved that win!!!
