GR Yes history does have a habit of repeating itself. It doesn't happen too often anymore that a lower seeded team goes to the big show. My elders told me of a GR team back in the seventies that placed 5th or 6th in the IRC and went on to be State Champs. This was the day of single class though. I find it interesting you guys think you can pick section champs after one game. It is a long road to the DECC. Teams have to stay healthy. An injury to one or two key players can change an entire season for a team. The teams with good depth will make the show. Teams that rely on a couple of studs are going "all in" and a draw on the river can break the bank in February.

What team did any of us pick to win the section? Please get a clue. All of us are having fun talking about how awesome 7AA is this year. If you actually could read my posts you would see that obviously I am excited about my team. However you would also see I have much respect for CEC, Elk River, etc. I haven't said this section is a lock for anyone. However, things I've seen in the past make me think Forest Lake and Brainerd won't be in the semi's. Notice, "make me think". And jackpine, if the team with good depth doesn't have a good goalie, they will NOT make it. I assume your depth reference is to the skaters. the way I see the section right now is like this... 1 & 2 are Elk River/Duluth East 3 & 4 are Grand Rapids/Cloquet 5 & 6 are Brainerd/Forest Lake 7 & 8 are St Francis/Cambridge-Isanti 9 is Andover Elk River and Duluth East are defending section champs... Cloquet was runner up in 7AA last year and have the best goalie in the state, Grand Rapids just beat them... Flake played with Grand Rapids, just didn't score with them, Brainerd is 1-0. The rest don't matter for what I am getting at. Forest Lake will improve. They have a great first line lead by Fogerty. Kubes and Woodard (sp) are top players as well. The goaltending isn't amazing, but it is pretty good. Brainerd will be a solid club returning a lot of quality players...I think Forest Lake will prove to be the better team by the end of the year. I think they win this game and head towards the top half of the section. The Fogerty line will be too much for Brainerd...Flake 6, Brainerd 3

You're disgusting. Something tells me boblee has more insight on Forest Lake than most of you. It's way to early to predict blah blah blah. But all of us are still entitlted to make predictions if we want, cantkrankawristshotatmorethan2mph.

i concur, boblee, fls first line will be too much for brainerd to handle, for that matter their first line will be tough for anyone to handle. where the problems come in is between the pipes. This burris kid i seen last year in jv, and seen him in the cambridge game on tues. although he has improved immensley i think this is there biggest weekness. as for the "D" they have 2 kids that are amazing, they have 2 that are "pretty good" and 2 that need some work. They are a physical team, they like to throw the body around. Players to watch for: "F" Tom Kubes "S" Christian Fogerty "J" Blake Woodword "S" Sean Tilton "S" "D" Cody Carlisle "J" Jake Lamonte "J" Nick Ginnini "J" As for the game 4-3 Flake

just got off the horn with the scout and he said that the general consensus in the nhl is that brainerd should beat forest lake by at least 3 goals in tonights contest, but he says that there will be an anomaly in the outcome as he predicts that the rangers from forest lake will beat the brainerd warriors by a score of 3-2. we will see. i tend to agree, albeit i haven't seen either team as of yet. however, i have seen forest lake quite extensively in the past two years and they will have a tough time penetrating the likes of the iron curtain in that of mr. carl sneep and mr. ryan peltoma. these fine young men will be backed by either landon snider or nick whichello. take your pick. shots on goal will favor the warriors somewhere along the lines of a 3:2 ratio. maybe even 2:1. i would tend to think that the ratio will be more likely to be at least 2:1. i plan on making the trek over to brainerd from duluth tonight to see the game. planning on hooking up with a fraction of the shady bunch. slappy may join but i am thinking only the scout, boozy, zero, kranky, mr. h hockey and the beer man aka 0:32 will be in attendance. the flying finn may get his second career goal tonight. watch out for the line of kukla, fran and ollie. mr eigner's puppet show is about to begin and tonight's marionette will be chris fogerty. watch for the warriors to give up the first goal and then try desperately to tie it up in the last few seconds. lilo (& stitch) Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... ips>Stitch Lips</A> at: 12/3/05 1:56 am
