Biggest Section Upset Run overall has to 1995 Chisago Lakes

Went (8-13-1) on the season which gave them a #8 Seed for the Section 2A Playoffs
Beat #9 seed Pine City in the 2A Play In Round
Upset #1 seed Proctor in the 2A Quarterfinals
Upset #4 seed Mora in the 2A Semifinals
Upset #2 seed Princeton in the 2A Section Final

Has to be the only time a #8 seed ever to not only upset #1 seed, which has been done, but then to knock off a #4 seed and #2 seed and make State what a run!

Hats off to the Wildcats on the greatest Section Upset Run in Class A History and most likely in MN HS Hockey History as a whole.

The '86 Richfield over Edina upset was big, and it came on the heels of a nearly as big upset of a very good Tonka in the semis.

The win over Edina was the semi, the win over Tonka was the section final. Damian Rhodes (goalie for Richfield, who had this idiosyncratic deal he'd do with this glove - scratch, scratch, then turn - when the puck was out of the zone) stood on his head. I think Tonka put 45 shots on net in that game. My senior year. Grr.

Rhodes btw had more than a cup of coffee in the NHL.

Tonka is now sadly 7-15 in section finals.

I think this list is missing Holy Family (5th seed) over a 2-loss and defending champion Tonka team in 2019.
