Let's get the Goalie talk started! I am a stat nerd and a fan of goalies. I also have had a chance to see a lot of guys play over the years and wanted to come up with a list that got things going. So I used a simple formula of picking guys who played at least 612 minutes (equivalent of 12 games) over each of the last 2 seasons as well as posting an .875% or better save percentage in each of the last 2 years. Here are the Top 15 by save percentage. I then combined their 2 year stats to see who rose to the top. I was unsurprised that given what I have seen watching goalies over the years that the cream seemingly rose to the top.

Joshua Koskie Providence Ac 1810:14:00 13 21 1 1345 1198 147 0.891 2
A couple of guy who arent on this list (didnt hit the 2 year criteria) but should have good years include:
Cody Ticen, LV South
Croix Kochendorfer, East Ridge
Will Larson, Andover
Andrew Tuttle, Roseau
Nick Erickson, Hill Murray
Dylan Halliwill, Holy Family
My pick for Brimsek is Jack Weineke. Maple Grove is stacked and with a bunch of D1 defensemen in front of him, he will have a big year.
If I had to pick a guy to steal 1 game for me I would go with Croix Kochendorfer.
Best 2 deep goalie depth chart is at LV South with Ticen and Ethan Dahlmeier.
Let's hear what you got! Who is best, most underrated, most consistent?

Re: The 2021 Goalie Thread
I am curious to see how Zach Hayes performs this year. He had a >90% save percentage while at Hopkins. Now he moves over to EP, where they have a solid top 4 D crew and 2 full returning forward lines
Re: The 2021 Goalie Thread
I’m admittedly partial, but Timmons for Gentry is outstanding. Big improvement year over year and didn’t have an off game last year. Was 14-1 and just short of 92% SV% on a team built around offense. He’s good and the only thing holding him out of the discussion is probably GA’s schedule. Stronger schedule this year so keep an eye on him

Up in the Northland, I think our 2 tops goalies are Jacob Walsh of Cloquet and Jacob Snyder of Duluth Denfeld. Both were on Team Volocity for the HSE League this last year.

I think Hayes is going to have a huge season, he put up good numbers backstopping subpar teams...I remember watching him as a freshman, he is really good.

Re: The 2021 Goalie Thread
Great work. I am also a goalie stat nerd. GA needs to be replaced with GAA to be meaningful. Just like saves doesn't paint the picture the same way Save % does. There is way too big of a minutes played spread to use Goals Allowed as a stat. Timmons has 1393 minutes played compared to Syverson at 2464 minutes. GA has to be switched to an average not a total to be meaningful.
Great work though.
