Is this Elk River’s cue? Have you heard anything odd, thunder clapping or dun-dun-dun dramatic sound effects, something indicating a curse was striking...

Grand Rapids got robbed on a score. Replay clearly showed it was in., but whistle blew & that's it.
ER empty netter so it's 3-1 ER final.
Sad.

It looked like it was on the line when the goaltender got up. I don’t think it crossed.raidergrad72 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 22, 2020 4:10 pm Grand Rapids got robbed on a score. Replay clearly showed it was in., but whistle blew & that's it.

Congrats to Elk River and al for an exciting win. I really thought when Rapids scored they might have that magic again. GR definitely got some jump from that but the Elk goalie came up huge on the Peart rush shortly after. That was the difference.
I was hoping for a different outcome but that game was awesome to watch.

Yeah: thats what we saw on tv. The goalie was getting up after the whistle and the puck fell on the line.grindiangrad-80 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 22, 2020 4:15 pmIt looked like it was on the line when the goaltender got up. “Clearly showed it was in”. Always interesting how the same replay can get vastly different views depending on what sweater you are wearing.Joe2015 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 22, 2020 4:22 pmYeah: thats what we saw on tv. I must not have seen all the angles. It looked like it never crossed the line completely. (Which it has to do)
Believe me- I wish it was a goal.

As a neutral fan, I dont have a dog in that fight: just going by what i saw on tv. The announcers seemed to agree: they never thought it crossedHockeyfan911 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 22, 2020 4:31 pm“Clearly showed it was in”. TBH I did not even see it. You clearly sound objective as I believe you are rooting for GR. Just funny that one commenter states clearly in and they were robbed while two others saw the same thing and said it never crossed the line.grindiangrad-80 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 22, 2020 4:34 pm I must not have seen all the angles. It was no goal the correct call was made.
Re: 7AA Semifinal II: Elk River vs Grand Rapids
That happens all the time in sports though right? Like during the Super Bowl, you had the Kittle PI call at the end of the first half. I didn't even think it was controversial: his arm was fully extended creating the separation..............But then I go on twitter, and people are like "what a garbage call: refs suck".............its like "are you even watching the same play that I was"?Hockeyfan911 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 22, 2020 4:39 pmTBH I did not even see it. Re: 7AA Semifinal II: Elk River vs Grand Rapids
It was definitely in. Replay clearly showed that most if not all of the puck was across the line. Problem was the ref wasn’t behind the goal enough to see it cross and had blown the whistle. Goal judge would have seen it if there was one. Heard Peart was playing with bad thigh bruise from mid first period hit. Still played one heck of a game. Congrats Elks...looks like they’re peaking at the right time. Andover will have their hands full.grindiangrad-80 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 22, 2020 4:15 pmIt looked like it was on the line when the goaltender got up. You are contradicting yourself even. If replay only showed most of the puck was across the line, then that is not innorcon wrote: ↑Sat Feb 22, 2020 5:22 pmIt was definitely in. Re: 7AA Semifinal II: Elk River vs Grand Rapids
There was a goal judges on both ends
Re: 7AA Semifinal II: Elk River vs Grand Rapids
I wasn’t sure on the ruling regarding that, but I did state “most of if NOT ALL of the puck”. I just assumed there were no goal judges being the refs did not confer with anyone...my bad.Joe2015 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 22, 2020 5:29 pmYou are contradicting yourself even. It’s an odd year when it’s the same post-Amsoil game(s) song being sung, but the north teams singing it with the south teams being the ones laughing. Only in this parity-themed season.
Edit: This must be Ben Gustafson’s biggest win of his career, no?

Re: 7AA Semifinal II: Elk River vs Grand Rapids
For those of you that have the WDIO package, the game is now up for watch on demand, I watched the goal in question. At no time do you ever see the puck cross the line. After the goalie gets up, a GR player pokes a stick at him and the causes the puck to fall back onto the goal-line. But that was well after the whistle. Maybe in the arena they had a different angle? But based on the tv broadcast, there is NO WAY you can say it was a goal.

I was at the game and the overhead cam showed the puck crossing the line.Joe2015 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 22, 2020 5:29 pmYou are contradicting yourself even. I really had no skin in the game either but I saw what I saw & judging by the boos in the arena a lot of others did to.

Ben won a state football title as O line for the Elks, a win over Andover would tie that victory IMO.Bayside Tigers wrote: ↑Sat Feb 22, 2020 6:06 pm It’s an odd year when it’s the same post-Amsoil game(s) song being sung, but the north teams singing it with the south teams being the ones laughing.
