Sometimes those games help out late in the year. If I remember correctly CEC beat the Rapids badly late in the year in 2017. Those evenings can provide a kick in the rear.

This is very true. I recall watching that game next to knivesy and thinking GR was in freefall. Which they were, until they flipped a switch in the 3rd period against Elk River in the section semis. The rest was history.

As for tonight, well, I just feel like the more I watch, the less I understand this season. Tonight, East looked like a perfectly viable top 20 team. Good offensive jump, great goaltending from Kausch, and they shut down Galatz, which by extension means you shut down Cloquet. Not sure why Carlson didn't start for the Jacks, seemed like an odd choice. We'll see if the Hounds can sustain anything into their three games later this week.
