Do not be surprised if Greenway is at state. In football. He could very well fill the role of creating havoc in front of the net and digging for the puck in the corners.
Re: Transfers for 2019-20 season
There is a new very interesting and unusual directional transfer rumor floating around the STA bantam elite rink today, which has been confirmed with 2 well placed sources. Involving upper classman, not bantam. Will leave it to the knowledgeable 218 people to further clarify specifics and provide Forum posting when they think appropriate.
Also hearing that Luke Busby will be back at EP High School this year. In addition to Steeves referenced above.
EP is building a case to passup BSM for the #1 preseason ranking slot.

Westy, must be same one I heard about 7-10 days ago and it definitely qualifies as a bombshell. Yes, agreed about Eden Prairie. Where I felt the story of Twin Cities HS hockey revolved around privates Blake, B-SM & Hill-Murray one wonders if any have as much as the Eagles on paper. Multiple additions help.WestMetro wrote: ↑Fri Aug 02, 2019 7:15 pm There is a new very interesting and unusual directional transfer rumor floating around the STA bantam elite rink today, which has been confirmed with 2 well placed sources.

Be kind. Rewind.
Re: Transfers for 2019-20 season
OTC- Agree on EP depth advantage. Thats why Im thinking #1 preseason.
Will be interesting to see if Tony, Danny, Karl follow our logic in a month or two.
Im headed back over to STA for the 5 oclock game today. But, I dont know why I bother to go to the rink to find out rumors, since you and MinnScout are always many weeks/months ahead of me!

Is this the rumor of Langenbrunner coming to STA?WestMetro wrote: ↑Fri Aug 02, 2019 7:15 pm There is a new very interesting and unusual directional transfer rumor floating around the STA bantam elite rink today, which has been confirmed with 2 well placed sources. Re: Transfers for 2019-20 season
I’ve talked to people here in Cloquet, and they have heard “zero” on any of our players at Cloquet, Esko, and Carlton relocating.

I expect this s**t from Pauly, but to see western burb public schools with 3k enrollment go to this level of "recruitment' is ridiculous.
Re: Transfers for 2019-20 season
The rich getting richer. It’s just the way it is with high school hockey. I’ve always been a huge fan of the team in purple. Individual players come and go for whatever reason, but the team is always there for me. CEC Lumberjacks High School hockey is amazing. Our kids are second to none. Absolutely that’s how it is for me. Whichever kiddos show up for captains practice and tryouts....they are my favorites. Every one of them . #218puck #boysofthenorth

Well. I’m having serious doubts Langenbrunner will be back this year. I’ve heard zip from certain folks I’ve been emailing for years. Usually when it gets quiet, things are happening. I wish ML the best though....a great kid!. #CEChockeyfan #imnotgoinganywhere

Why go to STA? He must really want a shot at the AA consolation banner to hang up at STA ice arena?High Heat wrote: ↑Sat Aug 03, 2019 12:29 pmIs this the rumor of Langenbrunner coming to STA?WestMetro wrote: ↑Fri Aug 02, 2019 7:15 pm There is a new very interesting and unusual directional transfer rumor floating around the STA bantam elite rink today, which has been confirmed with 2 well placed sources. Re: Transfers for 2019-20 season
..,So the Carls brothers are leaving Coon Rapids and going to Centennial. Big pick up for the Cougars...
Wonder why they were both snubbed by HSEL?
Younger one should have been an auto selection-
He was at 16s natty camp.
Very good and deserving players IMO

Re: Transfers for 2019-20 season
I know of at least one other 16 who attended Nat'l Camp that was not selected to play in the Elite League. It's not an automatic anymore....

Re: Transfers for 2019-20 season
It all depends, I think they are both good players, should have been on HSEL as well as a couple others that IMHO got snubbed. Some guys only like the points guys, they (CB) didn't have many in HSEL tryouts, but noticeable. So many forwards... guys have their favorites. There's D that to me were rock solid, get snubbed, some to me that were tripping all over themselves and always out of position, but make it. There were guys who made it as forwards that were unimpressive, pointless, but got spots. It's a crap shoot, to many guys grandfathered or "know someone", or their coach is also their adviser, etc. It doesn't break a career or make a D1 athlete. It's a showcase. Bad players get exposed and the regular season is still there, a lot of time for guys to prove them wrong, or prove them right.
Re: Transfers for 2019-20 season
Kind of disappointing when the best players (statistically at least per EliteProspects) that Coon Rapids has produced in at least the last 10 years don't make the cut in the HSEL. 26g /18a is a pretty good junior year. I get that the CR schedule is weak, but the kid did it against the bigger programs in the NWSC, too (5g / 6a in 6 games against Blaine, And, ER, MG, and Cent).PuckNA wrote: ↑Tue Aug 06, 2019 2:02 pm It all depends, I think they are both good players, should have been on HSEL as well as a couple others that IMHO got snubbed. Doesn't send a great message to those younger kids coming up in the program.
Re: Transfers for 2019-20 season
I have to agree, but I don't think they care honestly. I am curious to see how they do in their new home though, some better talent around them some give and take for points, but if egos are in check and coaches use them in the right ways with the right guys, could be pretty interesting how 5AA shakes out.

Re: Transfers for 2019-20 season
One Centennial dad told me they were fitting in nicely at the Edina Summer Fest.
I think the older one is a pure goal scorer?- so they will have to find a way to get him the puck at center ice.

Seeing new Tier 1 rosters for Fall HP, there is a player named Jameson Klein listed on the D8/D9 roster as Lakeville.
Elite Prospects page shows he played for St. Joseph High in New jersey last year. Anyone have insight into this?
