Any bold predictions?

It looks as if D10 is pretty strong this year with three representatives...D8 proved to be overmatched.

D6 and D10 look to be the dominate teams this year...I don't think I'd get to excited about a all D6 final. I think every game is going to be a dogfight! Watch out for Roseau...they are a sleeper. I could see a D6vs.D10 semi on both sides of the brackets. Anyone's guess from there....

While I am not a fan of District 10 by any means, they easily had the toughest District this year. They had 3 very solid teams at the top, and the next two were also very good. District 6 had two teams that were very good at the top, but the rest of that district was very average. The same could be said about District 3. Neither District 2 or District 8/9 had really solid teams, a bunch of decent teams.

I really hate to say it, but since they cannot play each other, neither Duluth or Roseau will win a game at the state tournament. The teams they will have to play are just two deep.

There is only one team that has beaten Edina, Chaska/Chanhassen, Centennial, Blaine and Duluth. They did not play Elk River or Roseau.

Here's stats for who was able to win in head to head competition from the year and shows the competition will be good -- these only show the team that made it to State has the ability to win vs. the other team(s) that made it to State - through the season and regions -- these were taken from myhockeyrankings.com -- let me know if there's any missing --

Blaine (Blue) has win(s) posted vs: Centennial & OMG (Crimson)

Centennial has win(s) posted vs: Blaine (Blue), Elk River & OMG (Crimson)

Chaska/Chanhassen has win(s) posted vs: Centennial, Duluth, Edina & OMG (Crimson)

Duluth has win(s) posted vs: Roseau

Edina has win(s) posted vs: Blaine (Blue), Centennial, Chaska/Chanhassen, Elk River & Roseau

Elk River has win(s) posted vs: Blaine (Blue), Centennial, Chaska/Chanhassen & Duluth

OMG (Crimson) has win(s) posted vs: Blaine (Blue), Centennial, Chaska/Chanhassen, Duluth & Edina

Roseau has win(s) posted vs: Duluth

These teams didn't get to all play each other but it does give an overview of how good the competition was during the season when they did meet up -- and should be at State !

All four games are set to be good on Friday but you have to admit that two of the games -- Edina vs. Blaine (Blue) and Elk River vs. OMG (Crimson) are two to watch and keep an eye on -- all four teams have been ranked as top 1 or 2 in the State on all rankings at one point or another this season so... these should be great intense battles -- two of these teams won't end up in the top four in State after their first game !!!

Here's my prediction:
1.) Edina
2.) Chaska/Chanhassen
3.) Elk River
4.) Centennial
5.) Blaine (Blue)
6.) OMG (Crimson)
7.) Roseau
8.) Duluth

All game scores were close !! Seemed like play was a little off for all teams but that's what's expected when the platform is this high of level at this age ! The advancing teams earned their spot in the Champions Bracket and as one of the top 4 teams in State !!

Great games coming up for Saturday's play in both brackets !!

Here's the scores -- and the way all lays out for Saturdays play -- Congrats to all --

Centennial over Roseau -- 2 - 0
Edina over Blaine (Blue) -- 3 - 2
Elk River over OMG (Crimson) -- 3 - 1
Chaska/Chanhassen over Duluth -- 2 - 1

Games and times tomorrow are:

Champions Bracket: (These are the only 2 games that will be broadcast live on MSBN Saturday for 12A's)
Edina vs. Centennial (3:30)
Chaska/Chanhassen vs. Elk River (5:15)

Consolations Bracket:
Blaine (Blue) vs. Roseau (12:00)
OMG (Crimson) vs. Duluth (1:45)

Well, Chaska/Chan almost sent it into OT.

Worked out like I thought it would. Congrats to the Hornets, a well-coached strong group of girls

!!!! Wow !!! Unbelievable high test U12A games today !!! If you were there you felt how the air was electric with energy and if you watched on the internet then you probably could see the same too ! The kids were playing to a capacity audience ! Each shift in all games were intense and had the ability to tilt the game !!!! The top 1 or 2 players from each team produced some great hockey so did their teams ... but hats off to #8, #13, #3, #7, #15, #16, #14, #17 (if you watched you know what respective teams each these kids are from) !!
All finals were within 1 goal and nail biters up to the end !! The girls gave great effort for their teams and respective trophy ! A great State Tourney for all !!! Congrats !

Congratulations State Champions: Edina Hornets 2011/2012 U12A !!

Here's how all finished up for U12A State !!
Championship:
Edina over Chaska/Chanhassen -- 3 - 2

3rd place:
Centennial over Elk River -- 3 - 2 (3OT's)

5th place:
Blaine (Blue) over OMG (Crimson) -- 2 - 1

All these kids should be very proud of themselves for their outstanding play and achievement !!

Yep, it was a great tourney. Was very happy how the Roseau team played. Held Centennial off until late in the 3rd before they snuck 1 by them. Then played Blaine into 2 OT's 4 on 4. Most down there did not give the Roseau team any credit, and to think the Roseau team only has 4 second year players...

The kids, teams and coaches put on great competition at the highest level this weekend -- but wanted to acknowledge that without the great coordination of the program this couldn't have gone as smooth and all couldn't have enjoyed or had as much fun as all was !! so... a big shout out and Thanks to D10 for putting on a great Tourney !!
