5-1 Hermantown, the Hawks continue to roll rather easily.

Could be an interesting game, but this isn't Lourdes' finest squad, and the Hermantown D will be up to the task.

Roch Lourdes has no depth. 6-1 or worse. Hermantown will walk past them and TRF right into finals.

Lourdes has a goaltending problem he may make first save but gives up huge rebounds. I would say h- town 7 Lourdes 1

i can see lourdes pulling the upset with everyone writing them off for not being as good as they were in the years past.that being said its gonna take a lot of work to upend the hawks but i think they have the grit and determination to do it

The 6-2 win over Blake and the one goal loss to TG shows that they can be competitive.

I still take Hermantown in this one but Lourdes has the potential to keep this one close. I say 5-2 Lourdes with a late open net goal.

Oops. I say Hawks 5-2 with an open net goal. Not Lourdes.

TOTALLY AGREE THAT THEY SHOULD WALK INTO THE FINALS DUE TO THIS BEING A THREE TEAM TOURNEY THIS YEAR. THE REAL QUESTION IS CAN THEY ACTUALLY BEAT A GOOD TEAM WHEN THEY PLAY THEM? I'M GOING WITH A PRIVATE SCHOOL VICTORY......AGAIN

Having seen both of these teams play this year I have to go with Hermantown. Lourdes speed is impressive, but if Hermantown can (and more than likely will) shut down Samuelson and Funk with some physicality, this could be a land slide... The goaltending for the Eagles isn't as well as it was in past years with Heimer at the helm. Most importantly, Hermantown's depth will ware on Rochester.

Will be 6-0 HT after 1st. Goalie change for the 2nd. 14-0 after 2nd. LHS will go with 6 skaters, no goalie in the 3rd. Final 18-4.

I really think this is the year that lourdes gets by the first round. Hermantown is a very ripe tomato that is ready to be squashed. Lourdes 2-1 OT with the upset.

As fun as this would be to watch, it would mean St Thomas could win a title without beating a pure public school :mrgreen: =;

Hermantown wins BIG.

And here's an updated photo of your boy AJ Hawk, Karl.

He donated his long locks to Wigs for Kids, a charity that provides wigs for children who lose their hair due to medical treatments and other conditions.

Stay classy, AJ. And keep your hair short for now on.

Hermantown has a REALLY solid hockey team. They play hard and fast. I don't see them getting beat on their way to the finals, but I am sure Bruce reminds them daily that upsets happen and they can't look past anyone. Lourdes doesn't match up well at all with the Hawks. There isn't one category where the Hawks don't have the advantage. This will likely be the most lopsided game in the tournament.

Prediction...
Hawks 9
Eagles 0

Bad draw for Rochester Lourdes, Hermantown's got way too much depth, Kolquist, LeBlanc and Co. will be able to shut down Funk, Samuelson and Farrell. Hawks 6-1

A little premature, but I think Lourdes stands a good chance of beating New Ulm in the consolation round. As for Hermantown game, does the MSHSL have a rule at what point they stop putting goals on the scoreboard?

Lakeville South had 19 vs. Winona. Do they stop at 20?

Nope, they keep running it up....ask Moorhead once.

As for this game, Hermantown by 2...something like 4-2, 5-3.....
