Frazee kept them in that game for the most part so there is no need to trash him. It was two pretty evenly matched teams, but UND had the better of the play in OT and were bound to win that game. I don't wanna root for UND but I hate the eastern bias and would love for the WCHA to show up the NCAA despite its best efforts to keep the title away from the league.

look at the goals that Briggs gave up to Air Force. besides the power play goal he gave up they were 2 very weak goals. the first one was bottom of circle with clear view and the third he was doing the crappie flop all over the ice.woody22 wrote:If I had picked anyone to let in a goal like that, It would be Frazee.
Pace of game
Maybe just me. Maybe because it was a Sunday. Maybe because it was at altitude. Maybe my head was just a little foggy but did anyone else feel that this game was played in slow motion.
I've seen maybe 30+ gopher/sioux games in my life and this was easily one of the most stale performances by either team. I did a sanity check with my son and he felt the same way. Were we just in a bad mood or was the game in slow motion? Comments?

Wow, what a downer that game was! I thought Frazee did great in the nets, I think his team pretty much let him down in OT, not the greatest play out of the Gophers...this sucks, 2nd year in a row with no Frozen Four appearance! Isn't it just amazing tho, how these stinkin' goalies play out of their mind against the gophers, but they play like crap against other teams....Well, here's to next season!

Re: Pace of game
I think the crowd played a large hand. The crowds at these tourney games were pathetic, the host sites were awful and the fans weren't into it all. It's just another thing the NCAA needs to look into to correct this tournament format.whos_it wrote:Maybe just me. Maybe because it was a Sunday. Maybe because it was at altitude. Not much they can do unless they choose smaller venues or limit the sights to Minnesota, ND, Mich and WI. I don't know much about the East but I can tell you most of CCHA country can't fill a rink either.
I've been to Notre Dame for a few games and it's a disgraceful D I rink. For a team that was the overall #2 seed for the National Tournament who plays for a University with seemingly bottomless pockets, nobody outside the players, parents, band, and a handful of marshmellow throwing football fans really cares about ND hockey.
Other than us, people in the US don't care about hockey and the bad crowds at the regional sites would indicate that.

I would think they could get good crowds in Boston or Maine.Irishmans Shanty wrote:Not much they can do unless they choose smaller venues or limit the sights to Minnesota, ND, Mich and WI. I don't know much about the East but I can tell you most of CCHA country can't fill a rink either.
