21/22 Schedules

[Immigrant Fan]

Looking through the GRHS website activities calendar I found hockey games scheduled for this winter. This looks like a complete slate for the season. Despite joining a conference, it appears they put together a reasonably demanding schedule. I'm excited that they show two games scheduled with East this year. I think it is a good move adding Andover. Very intriguing adding St Thomas to the schedule. I think it is a great move to go back to just one game with hermantown. I am speculating on opponents for the Edina Classic, assuming they will follow the traditional participants and schedule. Home games are in bold font.

It looks like Edina (formerly Edina East, formerly Edina) is giving themselves and extra hour of rest for the second half of the home and home weekend. Not a bad idea, as Hill has swept that series for a couple of years now. In fact, the Hornet offense has been flaccid against Hill for 13 consecutive periods. But whose counting anyway?

It could be another year of Gentry walking into the section playoffs as a virtual unknown quantity.

The High School League should give new schools' opponents the 26th-game waiver for 5 years, not 1.

At the very least, any school that had Year 1 during the pandemic should be given the 26-game waiver this year as well.

I know Fergus Falls is constrained somewhat by their CLC schedule, but that is a disappointingly weak slate for a team expected to be the clear frontrunner in 6A. Aside from Alex and LF, Warroad is the only Class A opponent of interest. Even adding Monticello or TRF would have helped beef up the challenge level.

Noticed that Rock Ridge is splitting home games between Eveleth and Virginia. Is that this year only? I have never been in the Hippodrome. I thought covid wiped out my last chance. I will be sure to get there this year.

For instance, if you want to see any of the Lake conference teams schedules, go to lakeconference.org, then pick the school, then go to find schedules and pick hockey. Independents are harder, but 95% of the games can be found here
