Sadly, former Duluth Marshall coach Brendan Flaherty has died. He'd been diagnosed with cancer in 2018, and complications included a viral infection in his brain. He led Duluth Central to a state tournament in 1996 and then revived the Marshall program, taking them to 7 state tournaments, including three state runner-up finishes from 2006-2008. He also led Marshall back to Class AA.
More importantly he was a good dude. RIP, Coach.
RIP Brendan Flaherty

Re: RIP Brendan Flaherty
Very sad day in the hockey community. My son that just graduated this year was his last varsity player that played for him before stepping down. He was a great coach and a great person that fought for all his players. He will be greatly missed.

This week Coach Flaherty was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame at Marshall School. This is a short video showing the legacy he has left.
