What's up, Doc? One idea for the Tourney.

Post by Goal_Judge »

Who knows when the next State Tournament will be? Whenever it is, the MSHSL and Channel 45 should consider bringing in Doc Emrick to call the games. I know he is not everyone's cup of tea, but his distinctive voice and famous calls over the years would add a level of excitement to the broadcasts. And now that he is retired, he's got the time to do it. His love of the game might lead him to say yes, if asked.

Another thought...Bob Kurtz. Because the Wild are always on the road when the State Tournament happens, he'd be available now that he only calls home games. Nothing against the guys from Channel 45 (you'd still want Dr. Chuck Els to play a role), but having Emrick or Kurtz on the call would be a special treat for both the players and the fans.

Ahhh, yes. Is it a MN thing to not want the best? One might think so with how many Stanley Cups the self-described 'State of Hockey' has. If Doc wants in, he should be welcomed with open arms. Nothing against Kurtz or anyone else. If the MN boys state hockey tournament is considered the best then why not have the best calling the action?
