Lakeville South vs Eden Prairie
Lakeville South

Scoring leaders are Cade Ahrenholz, Zack Oelrich, Eli Miller, Jack Novak, Cam Boche, Cade Ahrenholz.
Coached by Janne Kivihalme
Eden Prairie
Led by Jackson Blake, Mason Langenbrunner, Ben Steeves, John Mittlestad, Luke Mittelstadt, Carter Batchelder and Drew Holt.
They have two solid goaltenders in Axel Rosenlund and Eli Andrews.

Pre-season prognosticators thought Eden Prairie would ride their talent to a championship.
Tough to argue that even if they are the 3 seed.

Re: Lakeville South vs Eden Prairie
Was it 2 or 3 overtimes last year right about this time? Also I’d heard rumors that if Eden Prairie hadn’t scored at the end of that last OT, the game would’ve been called & restarted the next morning, anybody know if that would’ve been true?

Re: Lakeville South vs Eden Prairie
They outshot Hastings like 55-20. Pretty sure Hastings goalie is the only reason it was close.
Re: Lakeville South vs Eden Prairie
Either way Blake’s first line is going to have to do a lot to beat EP.
Re: Lakeville South vs Eden Prairie
True. But that Blake first line would all be on the first line at Lakeville. So its going to be a different beast for EP tomorrow night. EP lost a number of games to good but not great teams (not sure anyone was great this year). So they will have their hands full. I'd assume EP is deeper than Blake and that could be the difference.GopherHockey wrote: ↑Thu Mar 05, 2020 3:08 pmThey outshot Hastings like 55-20. That Section 1AA is an absolute joke. There are no less than 10 full teams from other sections watching at home today--all of which could win the 1AA section. Something needs to change.

Why isn't MSHSL enforcing the rules on Goalie equipment?
Re: Lakeville South vs Eden Prairie
Same for 1A. We need a better playoff system to get the BEST eight teams to the Big Dance.

Re: Lakeville South vs Eden Prairie
I agree, I think the depth is pretty similar with 2 lines. Blake’s 3rd line got caught on some long shifts and hemmed up in their own zone, although it seemed like Maple Grove had better depth than EP. Should be a great game that could go either way.Sparlimb wrote: ↑Thu Mar 05, 2020 3:17 pmTrue. But that Blake first line would all be on the first line at Lakeville. Re: Lakeville South vs Eden Prairie
Shots....meh. South was horrible in its own end twice in sections. They got away with it when Century kid, who was the second leading goal scorer in AA, missed an open net with less than 5 minutes to play in a 2-1 game. Then got away with it when the officials bailed them out late and again in OT against Hastings.
Would the result of this game be any different? Probably not. Heck, maybe it’s even closer with South.
As for 1AA, over the last decade they have been equal if not better than section 3 and section 8.

LVS provided no challenge to EP today. Blake vs EP Friday night should be one heck of a game
Re: Lakeville South vs Eden Prairie
Didn’t read whole thread , but Cougars had 3 good opportunity chances In front of us in the first but couldn’t execute and convert . Any one of them might have built some momentum . Not that outcome would have changed
