Well I wouldn't worry. South isn't going to win anything next week.

End of 3rd

Shots 46-19 South.
Is this the first OT of the entire playoffs?
There were two last night, including SSP winning in three overtimes.

Final:
Monticello 6, Pine City 4 (eng)

Entertaining game, and quite a roller coaster ride over the final three minutes or so. Monticello scored to go up 4-3, and PC countered on the PP with just over a minute left. Monticello scored just 14 seconds later (possibly a missed offside call) to crush that momentum and went back up 5-4, then added an empty-netter for insurance.

Yay! A Lakeville team at the tournament. It just wouldn't be the same without them...

Penalties were 6-1 on Hastings, same ref called every Hastings penalty, most were legit, the two that resulted in power play goals were awful. With 3 minutes a Hastings kid gets hauled down behind the South net, no call.

In OT South has 6 skaters on the ice, uses the extra man to dump the puck into Hastings end, then, within seconds, a phantom interference penalty called on Hastings. South scores, game over.

The better team won, but twice now South got very very lucky.

That official should never work a playoff game again. Ever! If you don’t get the magnitude of the game and choose to interject yourself into the outcome.....

That would’ve been a fun game to have played in :)

LS had the territorial and play advantage and control of most of game no doubt. Agree that calls were very one sided and curious as to timing of certain late calls when similar things were not called prior. You'd like in a championship OT setting to let kids settle it unless it's blatant. The too many men in OT was pretty clear and #3 on LS shot puck into crowd after the play was well over, was a dumb and dangerous thing to do as almost hit a spectator. Not sure why that wasn't delay of game. Nonetheless an exciting game and feel bad someone had to lose.

Great take =D> =D>
I agree wholeheartedly!

I can’t say Hastings deserved to win but I can say they did not deserve to lose in the way it ended.

I give the Hastings kids and staff great credit for the awards. South won but it wasn’t South’s fault for how it ended. It could have been ugly.

Never a good time when games have to end in/with such controversy. I feel like those games have been pretty minimal in this year's playoffs, perhaps that's a good thing, but hate to see it at all.

In 20+ years watching 1A/1AA hockey I can only think of one other game that was as badly officiated as this game was. And this was three officials of the four who were beyond awful, they missed numerous offsides, drawing a Bronx cheer for actually calling one in the 3rd period. I know who it wasn’t as far as the referees but hesitate to put his name out there, both linesmen were out of position consistently as to offsides until the 3rd period, both ways.

I hadn’t seen 3 of the 4 before and I guess there is a reason. The Minneapolis officials association needs to do a better job of assigning. This was a joke. The kids deserved better.
