Chaska beats HF 6-3

Overcapacity crowd with aisles full and 3 deep standing room . Large competing student sections

First time these two next-door neighbor teams have ever played each other

Snuggerud got two early , but Fire battled back to tie it at 3-3

Game was four - three into mid third. Then LaVelle got a nice snipe from right side to make it five - three. Jimmy Snuggerud added eng to get himself the hatty

Chaska controlled most of action and sog were 2x

Jimmy Snuggerud and Jimmy Clark were battling tonite in different arenas as to who is best AA freshman Jimmy in the state . Will they find a new home with Ntdp next year? Better go see them this weekend !

The kid at Braemar was like what it must have been to see Henry Boucha, Tim Sheehy, or Mike Antonovich. Poor Trojans. They played more than well enough to win.
Be kind. Rewind.

I heard Fechko is no longer with the team. Can anyone confirm?

It was truly a magical night for Jimmy Clark. He was the best player on the ice...and it really wasn’t close. Edina beat a tough team to take down in the section playoffs (in Wayzata). Without the heroics of Jimmy Clark, Wayzata wins this game, end of story. But...JIMMY...was on fire. The fact he’s a freshman made his performance even more memorable 👍

Any hints at where he might be playing in college?

Heard from a HF parent at the game last night he was left off the playoff roster for disciplinary reasons. I looked and he was the 2nd leading scorer on the team so it had to be something big if Coach Rahn left him off going into playoffs. It will be interesting if he ever plays for the Fire again?

Watching Puck doesn't have any. Weird I can get free streams of the state tourney and consolation games from Mariucci, but can't get section games. I'm sure this will change in the next few years. Streaming section finals will not reduce attendance.
I think the MSHSL charges anyone and arm and a leg to have the rights to stream these section games.
I have been told the price to stream section games is:

Quarterfinals $300
Semifinals $600
Finals $600

Or bundle package for all three is caped at $1000

Spuds.tv is streaming Moorhead games.
Thats Mr. Potatohead to you!

The MSHSL doesn’t have anything to do with the streaming of section games, it is up to each administrative section running the tournament. The section sets the prices, not the MSHSL. Radio and TV stations pay for the rights to broadcast the games, they have to pay people to broadcast it and offset that by selling advertising. If someone wanted to stream the games then they would have to pay the section to do it, just like other media.

We've got ourselves a 6 vs. 7 semifinal now after South St. Paul beat Gentry and SPA beat St. Paul Johnson in 4A tonight. The Dream State curse lives, the Packers have decent odds at their first section final in over a decade, and Mahtomedi has to like the way the winds are blowing...

Not many upsets in AA, just STA but many won’t consider that an upset. A whole bunch in A, including a couple of #7’s

You could almost see that North Branch one coming from a mile away, given the way they limped through the finish line, including a loss to Chisago (albeit not at full strength). The 4A upsets did surprise me, particularly with the way SPA dominated Johnson.

End of 2:
Mankato East 3, Dodge County 1
Shots 20-17 in favor of East

East pulls off the minor upset, 5-3
Nice season for the Wildcats, they should be even better next year.
