It’s good to hear Spuds are playing well. This Spuds team has left us faithful scratching our heads with a loss to Roseau in OT after outshooting them 15-3 in first period, being outplayed by Tonka in a close win, and a tie to St. Michael-Albertville. Now it’s Eden Prairie tomorrow and Andover on Tuesday..... we this team is finding some consistency.

I know he's not much of a pro prospect, but is Gleason the favorite for Mr. Hockey right now? Kid is dynamite.

Since NHL scouts have a major influence on the voting for Mr Hockey, no, Gleason isn’t the favorite. Despite the fact that I loath Hermantown playing single a hockey (& not because I’m a UMD alum either) I think the favorite (not a big favorite, but the favorite) is Blake Biondi

Remember last year, Donovan was the pre-season NHL scouts’ favorite but as the season progressed others joined the mix with BB named in the end. FWIW from what I have seen so far it is Gleason, Kaiser and Biondi in no particular order.

Well...Donovan absolutely fell on his face (statistically) as a senior, so that played into it big time & Brodz went absolutely bonkers on the stat line I don’t doubt Gleason & Kaiser are right there with Biondi & I’d have no problem seeing Gleason win it. Richels will be a finalist too, but with Tufte winning in 2016 & Brodz in 2019, has nil chance of winning (at least politically) in 2020

Losing to a team outside of the top 20 is pretty significant I would say. I would put EP, WBL, and Hill above Andover at this point.

Andover outshot them 2 to 1, but just couldn’t score. It happens. EP could have EASILY lost to Chaska (a team outside the top 20) and the EP game was even the whole way. So Andover played a more dominant game than EP, but lost. No reason to say they aren’t easily one of the top teams in the state. I wouldn’t drop them out of top 2.
