Full article in the Duluth News Tribune: https://www.duluthnewstribune.com/news/ ... and-Rapids

Sounds absolutely brutal. Hoping for the best through the recovery process.

He is a great guy and one of the best coaches I ever had the privilege to play for. He always preached tradition, respect for your team, your jersey, and your city. While at Tourneys he made sure we were representing our town with class. If anyone's jersey touched the ground, GOAL LINE were doing Herby's. I attribute a lot of my Grand Rapids pride to this man and my thoughts and prayers are with him and his entire family. I know he will keep fighting, he's one of the toughest guys I've ever met. If you doubt that in anyway just look up some of his old fights on youtube, poor Cam Neely...

Nice report, TCI.

If I'm correct, there was more than one Klienendorst on GR tournament teams. Can I get someone to chime in on that?

Scot and Kurt. Less than 1 year apart. Part of the GR Indians dynasty in the 70s. Thoughts with the family during this difficult time.

Someone else will have to chime in with more specifics as that is before my time.

The last name is familiar to me. Thinks Scot's dad's name was Ken & I believe, if memory serves me, Ken was an insurance agent in Grand Rapids.
Scot probably played with Don Lucia at least one of those years of the Rapids powerhouse.
My thoughts & prayers are with the family. Very sad.

Scot was a sophomore on the '76 state championship team where tDon was a junior. The '77 3rd place team had tDon as a senior, Scot a junior, and Kurt a soph.

Scot and Kurt. Less than 1 year apart.

For Irish twins, that's an odd last name.

Horrible work accident. The guy is one of the hardest workers you'd ever run across. Works shift work at Blandin's and runs his own HVAC business. Great living American! Thoughts and prayers to the family and to Scot for healing. [-o<

Mighty nice of you starting the thread elliott and all the well wishes made by fellow board members.
