He is not listed on U18 SSM roster.
Can anyone on this bored confirm if he moved to Minot for his Junior year of HS?
6-1-02 dob, but I think he is a Junior....
On line classes?
Before/After?
Yes - he is in Minot for season and is a junior in HS.

What is the number of games that a player can play in either the USHL or NAHL and still be eligible for MSHSL? I have always heard "10 &10"?

You can add Bennett Zmolek - Rochester Century to the list.

He made the 23 man roster for Cedar Rapids USHL.

If anyone wants to comb through them to see if there is any other breaking news, feel free! Otherwise I will be updating the rest of the USHL Rosters on EP Tonight and I will circle back. (I got the first three done alphabetically)

23 man rosters not always perfect indicator of where players will be spending entire season. Players doing before and after are usually listed on 23 man roster and of course still can come back, and then of course you have guys like Brink who are still listed on Sioux City’s 23 man yet is playing for Denver this season.

True. I thought about that on my drive home.

Oh well. I guess time will tell!

Broz will most likely not be at Blake this season. If I am Miller....I'm leaving too.

Probably not a huge surprise on Broz and definitely impactful as several had Blake as a top 5 team. Losing him impacts that and if Miller somehow departs too then much of the anticipation for Blake dissipates, they will still be solid and capable of picking up some nice W's along the way, but not a top 10 team any longer.

WM - hearing rumblings that Michaelis and Humphrey may have had a change of heart. I don't see Michaelis on Waterloo roster. Humphrey on SC Blizzard roster, but could be doing before/after. Have you heard anything?

No info, that was the plan in July from reliable sources. Lots can change nowadays before early November. Would defer to our Elk colleagues on latest info.

This is a tough one. His dad is an assistant coach at Century, his two older brothers both played their senior years at Century and went D1. This may be Century’s and Rochester’s last legitimate shot at a section title in AA. Zmolek is a D1 kid whether he leaves or stays....he may have already committed. I think he returns.

Does Austen Humphrey or Zach Michealis return to ER (neither made their listed early departure USHL team), and instead both are on NAHL teams? Seems Michaelis notched a goal for the MN Wilderness as did Humphrey for the St Cloud Blizzard. Anyone have better insight?

Look for some clarifications later this week or next. Expecting that one or more previously thought reliably sourced early departs will be returning . Flip side - Likely but not certain to have at least one early depart not on current list

As mentioned above, knowledgeable sources have tonite confirmed a change to previous information from last summer: Humphrey and Michaelis have changed their thinking from last summer and will return for the season to Elk River HS. This definitely shakes up the 7AA dynamics, as both should be 50+ point scorers if healthy throughout.

I saw a couple games that included both Elks. They didn’t stand out. It’s early in the season - No massive point production of what I would have expected. Similar to the 01s on the Magicians. I believe both expected to find a home in the USHL. That didn’t work out. The NAHL can be rough for younger “underclassmen” - meaning 16-18 year olds. I think they made the right choice. I thought Michaelis would have fared better in the USHL. A bit surprised. It’s a tough league too. Charlie Schoen was let go from Lincoln. Seeing a lot of 00 and 01s in the BCHL. Be interesting to see where Charlie ends up.

Still hearing mixed information from various sources on one high profile before and after person , who is not on exiled one’s list at present. Leads me to believe a final decision is still up in air , or else do not care to share it yet.

Sounds like YHH has confirmed Oberle is not returning? Not sure if their post is what prompted the question or not.
