Park Rapids Area vs Bagley/Fosston at Bagley 7:00 PM
Not a high profile game but my buddy is helping with Park Rapids and a game that could/should win.
Neither team gets a lot of press so I am high-lightening it today.
My pick PR by 3.

Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato vs Orono at Orono 7:00 PM
LItchfield off to a decent start and Orono not.
LItch could be at the X in March, Orono maybe but a long way to go.
Litch by 1.

Benilde-St. Margaret's vs Edina at Edina - Braemar 7:00 PM
Edina by 3. And yeah, probably see the Hornets at the X

Rochester Mayo vs Mankato East/Loyola at Mankato 7:15 PM
East is the team to beat in lowly section 1 A, lets see how they do against 1AA and what hope they might have in getting to the X and then doing something there. I have East by 3.

Bemidji vs Brainerd at Brainerd 7:15 PM
Hmmmm…...

Greenway/Nash-Kee vs Virginia/Mt. Iron-Buhl at Virginia 7:30 PM
This should be Greenway based on hype. Could be / should be / possibly be the 7A semifinal game.
Everyone thinks Greenway but it is in Virginia... Blue Devils by 1.

Spring Lake Park vs Andover at Andover 7:30 PM
We all know Andoer is great thisyear but what about SLP?
Andover by 4 should be the score but we will see.

I like the LDC pick over Orono. The Spartans had such a disastrous opening weekend that it’s hard to make heads or tails of them, but I wouldn’t bet on them righting the ship soon afterward.

I’m mildly insulted that you didn’t highlight the 2A pillow fight between Delano and Breck  I’ll take the Stangs by two.

And you know you want to take Bemidji over Brainerd, even on the road!

I meant to list them then I realized they both suck, not true, just not as excited about it as in previous years.

we will see (or hear, as I am not making the drive tonight).

Virginia's leading scorer is suspended for this game right? It may be in Virginia, and I know from experience its tough to play in there, but still, you can't hope to win when your leading returning scorer is not playing.

Edina leads BSM 3-0 after 1. Cant see scoreboard shots on livestream. Lots Red Knights penalties. Very little offensive zone time. Sorry MinnScout, BSM still a couple years away, Adam Marshall is really going to be outstanding by then. Several others also. Meanwhile Edina is dominating this game.

CakeScout, assuming you are at the game, all Edina suspended kids are playing tonight, so they served a 2 game rip

4-1 midway thru second, SOGS 17-6

5-2 midway thru third, SOGS 26-15, i think

Final Edina 5-2

2-2 Greenway and Virginia after 2. Virginia takes the lead with 23 seconds left, but Raiders tie it up with 7 seconds left. Greenway with a decided edge in zone time, but Moreland for Virginia has been opportunistic, getting both goals.

3-2 Greenway final. Shots 31-21 Raiders. If I'm Virginia, I feel pretty good about this game, especially considering Bialke didn't play.

Chaska loses 5-4 at Eveleth, Watched last 10 minutes. Hawks need some soul searching. Both goalies gave up 5 goals this week. Offense needs more consistent structure.

Well done Eveleth, to knock off a top 10 team in the city of US HOF!!

I think they'll be very good next season. Only two skaters are seniors. At least a handful of very good juniors that will be seniors in a year.

Game started out like it might be a running time special, but the Red Knights got it under control and the final was 5-2 after they tied the last two periods.
Be kind. Rewind.

Well said, agree on both points OOTC!

Knights also have to stay out of the box

I know that y’all can read scores from The Hub or wherever, but here are a handful of Class A results I found interesting (aside from the massive Eveleth upset and the big Greenway-Virginia tilt).

Rochester Lourdes 7, Mounds View 6 (OT)
Defense optional! After spotting the Mustangs a 4-0 lead, Lourdes came roaring back with five straight goals and eventually won the game 1:10 into OT.

Orono 5, Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato 2
The defending champs rose from the dead to slay the Dragons in convincing fashion. Orono doubled up LDC in shots and jumped out to a 4-0 lead.

Northfield 3, Faribault 1
In their first game action of the season, Northfield needed two late goals to squeak by a much less talented Faribault squad.

Rochester Mayo 5, Mankato East 2
A disappointing loss for East against a middling conference for. Mayo raced out to a 4-1 first period lead and outshot the Cougars 45-33.

And of course...
Breck 4, Delano 1
Breck’s first line was humming, with sophomore Beau Courneya netting two goals. Delano looks like they will be in for a long season.
