Minnesota Hockey Puts Hockey Over Academics

Post by hockey_is_a_choice »

Why did Minnesota Hockey schedule the HP17 Festival on the same day as the ACT exam?

The HP Spring Festival is scheduled to occur April17-19. The ACT exam is scheduled for April 18. This creates a conflict for the ‘98s. Sure, the boys can take the exam in June and in the fall. But, for those boys who are working hard to get into highly competitive colleges, many of them will need to take the test multiple times to maximize their scores, which means they need to sit for the April 18 test. Given Minnesota Hockey’s support of the SKATE program, this schedule conflict is odd. Hopefully, Minnesota Hockey will at least modify the schedule so the HP17 games on April 18 start late afternoon or early evening.

How about they take it in Feb or Oct?

Whenever the HP is scheduled, there is always going to be a conflict.

Your name says it all: Hockey_is_a_Choice.

Don't choose to play HP or take the ACT.

The ACT test is available for students to take every two months. They can take it as many times as they wish, and the test only takes a total of five hours. If there's a scheduling conflict, find another date to take the test.

Actually, an individual puts Hockey over the ACT if they choose to. If you feel it is so important to go to this hockey event that you are skipping the ACT ............... look in the mirror.
