They always seem to make a run no matter who goes, and last year were two breakaway goals from beating Lakeville North in the first round last year.

I agree. Section 8AA winner will be a strong contender for Consolation Championship again this year.

Lakeville was so lucky their goalie was on last year or they would have been playing in the consolation games. I know the last two years they havnt been the best, but they always seem to be the team that pulls the upset and makes it to the semis or championship. Moorhead and Roseau were at the top of the state in the 2000's

I remember when 1AA was pretty much a bye in the tourney for a higher seed to tee off on. They only have like two state championships for the whole section? Pretty awful... just look at the teams they have in that conference take away the Panthers and it is not very impressive at all.

Bemidji is 4 - 0 versus Moorhead and Roseau.

Section 8AA may not be a powerhouse but they will be okay.

Does Bemidji ever venture down to the Metro for games?

I think they are trying to get more games, but no not really I think they had a couple this year and that is a major reason why the Rams and Spuds usually beat them in my opinion.

Section 8 has produced more than their proportionate amount of top goalies in recent years.

Bitzer!!! He is a fricken stud at Bemidji State, and had one of the best seasons I feel in Minnesota history given the strength of the team in front of him. Also Mike Lee from the Rams he had a state championship too, and played for the huskies!

Conference and section games come first.
Grand Rapids is the closest AA program so they play them.
They have established a relationship with Hermantown so that will continue.
For along time they went to St Cloud for Xmas tourney, but have been going to Duluth of late.

If they could fit a weekend in (Drop Sauk, Sartell, Alex, Apollo - but have a football conference relationship with those schools) somewhere to pickup two games I think they would but not as easy as it may sound.

So, no, they don't venture down that way.

Alex Lyon at Baudette as well. Might be single A but it's still section 8.

Ryan Anderson, goalie from last year's Ram team, having great season with Wilderness in Cloquet.

Um, here we go again with the 1AA bashing!! Long history of success? Nope. Recent history (last 5 years) of success (ie Consolation championship, 3rd place finish, state runnerup) is darn close to being the best AA finshes in the state!!! This year will be no acception......!!!!!! Jaugernaut or no jaunernaut!!!

I think LS will have a great shot at cons champs.

Me too, as long as Weber can figure out a way to sneak Kloos back into a Cougar uniform!

Sneaky title, saying "8AA" instead of "Bemidji".

Moorhead did not play well, they were playing the best team in the state, and they were missing players, including one of the best goal tenders in the state.
its like a Mulligan, everyone gets to throw one out.
