Section 6A Rankings (2/5/23)
1- Alexandria (8-11-1)
2- Fergus Falls (12-7-1)
3- Northern Lakes (6-13-0)
4- Wadena Deer Creek (11-7-1)
5- Morris Benson (11-8-0)
6- Willmar (8-12-0)
7- Prairie Centre (5-15-0)
8- Breckenridge/Wahpeton (1-18-0)

Section 6A Outlook- Alexandria is in control of the 1 seed if they can sweep Fergus Falls. The winner of the Alex vs FF game this week likely gets seeded 1. Northern Lakes owns a win over Alex and the 2nd win of the split over Wadena Deer Creek for the 3 seed. Morris Benson still can move up. They have a game with the Lightning yet and if they were to win that one along with the 2nd win split over WDC it could get interesting. Willmar is the 6 seed with head to head wins over Prairie Centre & Breckenridge/Wahpeton.

I think the coaches vote will be very interesting in this section.
Who would I rather play early on type of thing...

Who ever wins the Alex vs FF rematch will decide 1
NL will be 3
WDC vs MBA will be 4 vs 5
Willmar is 6
PC is 7
BW is 8

Only wrinkle would be MBA beats NL .... Otherwise I think pretty straight forward

Do you see something different elliott?

Straight forward to you but a coach might look at it from a different angle.

Talked with a parent of an Alex senior this weekend and he said the Section 6 semifinals will be at the higher seed, not at the MAC. So, I guess the question still remains.

Getting back to enrollment, in a conversation the other night it was noted that Alexandria actually lost students this during this reporting cycle. So it sounds like the Cardinals will be solidly inside the Class A number this year and would only go Class AA if they opted up.

With the news of Denfeld and Rock Ridge, who are well below the enrollment line, opting up looking at the numbers they are safe anyways eve if they would have gained a few kids. The moves announced yesterday have major shockwaves CEC will stay up in 7A meaning how the computer redraws the map will be curious, both 4A and 6A will need around 10 teams so adding two to each will be curious

Looking at enrollments due to those 2 opting up and knowing Bemidji chooses to opt up it would bump Sartell out of the Top 64 and bring them back to Class A, not unheard of both NFLD and NP spent time AA before coming back after opt ups

Going off of the past could see something like the below.... for new sections this coming April

1A- (10) Albert Lea, Dodge County, La Crescent, Rochester Lourdes, Winona, Waseca, Austin, Minnesota River, Mankato West, Mankato East
2A- (10) Orono, Providence Academy, Delano, Minneapolis, Southwest Christian, Waconia, Breck, Mound Westonka, Bloomington Kennedy, New Prague
3A- (10) New Ulm, Luverne, Litchfield Dassel-Cokato, Hutchinson , Marshall, Windom, Fairmont, Worthington, Redwood Valley, Willmar

Yep. And Sartell will still be in AA most likely next year and St Paul Johnson doesnt have a team most likely and I am not sure Stella Maris will actually have a hockey program. Again the above was speculating.... I guess that got missed in the post above. Again, "You see something like" what I tried to do based on how the maps look and some variables.
