Re: HP 14/15
I've heard from participants that the HP 14/15 program is pretty watered down talent-wise. I'd be curious to hear though if many of the top players attend do this program despite this?InigoMontoya wrote:Is the crème going to be in Anoka this weekend?

Re: HP 14/15
I just looked at the rosters. I think I heard wrong because the rosters look pretty solid. Should be an interesting weekend in Anoka!Snap Happy wrote:I've heard from participants that the HP 14/15 program is pretty watered down talent-wise. missing above average 01's that I can think of off top of head...random districts:
Megan Myers Goalie (played for Revolution?)
Bailey Burton (Revolution and Bloomington)
Maddie Mashuga (Anoka PWA)
Mannon McMahan (OMG PWAA)
Sydney Breza (Breck)
Lily Delandis (Edina PWA)
Hartung
De La Rosa (Highland Park?)
Langenfels (EP/Tonka)
Olivia Mobley (SLP)
That team right there with a bunch of average 02's would probably put a pretty serious beatdown on almost anybody in the tournament.
There are some pretty great 02's playing this fall that I am aware of that will compete very well with any 01's that are playing.
Regardless of the players that are missing hopefully there will be some great hockey this weekend. Plenty of talented players...hoping that the matchups will be good ones and not a bunch of blow outs.
The tryouts were at very random times for some districts so that HAD to effect the process. Hoping that it will be convenient for most in the spring...

I think this is supposed to be a development program. Maybe it's ok to provide an opportunity to girls that are not on the above lists. It could possibly be beneficial to girls hockey overall if other players get a chance to spend some quality time on the ice. Not sure it's meant to be a showcase or provide entertainment for the pundits. If it is, maybe it shouldn't be?

Yes this year is 2001- fall and spring
Although for whatever reasons, some districts invited their older 02s (especially those in the same grade who have been playing with the 01s all the way up.) In the spring it can only be 2001.
And fall IS development in the sense that it's not a tourney. I just hope they don't continue the "no penalty" penalty system they had last year. It was out of control by day 2.
And I know at least 3 for sure maybe 1 more DIDNT MAKE IT from massas list, although it's safe to say others on the list didn't participate. Or tried out just to get a resume line of their selection but gave up their spot for whatever reason. And those 3-4 didn't get picked up on another team like a few Edina players who didn't make their district team. 3-4 didn't make any team.
IMHO, it's s***** to have girls play outside their own district teams. In the past maybe you could argue whatever district didn't have enough talent to field a competitive team. That's clearly not true anymore, so how ticked off are the 18,19,20 would have been selected players who lost their spot to an out district girl who couldn't make her home team?

2nd year of the program. We are using it in place of fall warmup. Very affordable. Hit and miss for attendance with fall sports in full swing. Hour and a half ice for practice high school coaches running practice. Rumor has it this is the last year for the fall festival as the spring format is being expanded. Practice times fit really well with homework load.
From the MNH webpage - "The CCM Minnesota Hockey High Performance 14/15 program is designed to provide players born in 2001-2002 the opportunity to train and compete against players of similar age." It is open to 01s and 02s - the Districts decide how to manage that.Nevertoomuchhockey wrote:Yes this year is 2001- fall and spring

While there may be a District or two that would cut number 18, 19 or 20 in favor of another District's alternate, for the most part I believe the out of district players were rostered to fill vacancies. This is not inconsistent with MN Hockey's posted policy - "*For those districts that do not have enough players or choose to not participate, players may be given opportunity to tryout in corresponding districts."

Thank you Mavs, that's where I was reading. Not sure where Kniven was - no Duluth to be found. Edina tho!Mavs wrote:http://www.minnesotahockey.org/roster/s ... son=226210Nevertoomuchhockey wrote:What are you even looking at? Not a single girl from Duluth on the MN Hockey site roster.
